Happy Mini Hill of the Week Vol. VI

Well, Wednesday has rolled around yet again and it’s time for my Mini Hill Series.  I do this every Wednesday.  I started this when I saw a blogging trend of something bloggers does on a certain day of the week.   I decided Wednesday is a good idea because for me it’s the middle of the week, where I’m almost right over the hump (hence the name mini hill) of the week.  I work Monday through Friday.  I love it because I have weekends to myself but sometimes I miss the days of retail where I was closing 3 days in a row and sometimes I had off the next two days after that.  I literally got to sleep in all of those days.  However, I didn’t have nights and weekends to myself and I didn’t have a routine.  Even when I was in school I didn’t have a routine because sometimes I worked the days I went to school, other times I had off, it varied.  So now that I have an office job, Wednesday’s and Friday’s I look forward to the most.  If you’re wondering why only those two days because, Monday’s you realize your weekends go by way too quick EVERY week, Tuesday’s are just useless except for Yoga class after work, Thursday’s are a tease and Saturday’s are usually filled with errands and Sunday’s are just a reminder that the weekend is pretty much over.
So, with all of that being said (I know I can type forever, I greatly apologize), I’d like to share what things are getting me through this week.
Music-my favorite song of this week is actually a remake of an old Goo Goo Dolls song, remember them?  It’s called Iris and the cover is by Sleeping with Sirens.  Now I know this is not everyone’s cup of tea but I absolutely love this song and forever will, and I love the difference yet same emotions with this remake/cover.  Surprisingly I fell asleep to this song last night and it brought me good dreams.

Dream Catcher-Speaking of good dreams.  Remember that dream catcher wind chime I posted {here}a few weeks ago?  Well, I don’t want to sound superstitious or anything but my bad dreams/night terrors have reduced greatly.  Maybe it’s my subconscious knowing there’s a dream catcher there and it’s telling my mind to stop keeping me up at night?  Or it can also be coincidence, who knows.  I’m going to believe it’s my dream catcher, just like when I was a child I swore by my dream catcher until one day I broke it on accident.
Learning to forgive-I’ve been walking down memory lane with all the blogging I have been doing.  For some reason a lot of blogs have talked about things that have happened in the past or things that people are going through that I have already gone through.  Since reading all of this and reflecting on my own self I realized that even though I have changed for the better and have grown and blossomed into someone much better than I was a year ago, I still have yet to learn to forgive some people.  This will come in time because certain people from my past I don’t think I will ever be able to forgive but I will at least try.  It’s like food.  You’ve never had it and you know you may not like it but you need to try it first.  No one is perfect and I understand this but there were so many things that went wrong towards me that I will try to find forgiveness in my heart but keyword try.  I will say though, I am thankful for the people in my life today because they are the ones who have taught me there still are good people in this world, they may be a diamond in the rough but they are there and you cannot carry baggage with you forever.  Sometimes forgiveness may just be the best way to move on.
The following pictures are from a year ago.  The Facebook post is from exactly a year ago.  By the way no that is not my real name lol  some people just call me Madison.  The other pictures show that even through pain I still tried.  I will try to forgive the people who put me through the pain I endured, but for now I’ll leave you with pictures of me from a year ago.

Literally this dog and my family were what got me through all of last year.  I love you.

This last picture is something a friend of mine sent to me.  I used to be a ballerina, many many many years ago but they sent this to me hoping that it would lift my spirits.  The moment I read this, my face lit up and I smiled.
And last but certainly NOT least…
My Panera Cookie-Yes, I said it, a cookie.  It was less than a dollar and I couldn’t resist!
What’s getting you through the week?  Have you recently taken a walk down memory lane?  Is there just something you couldn’t resist today?
xoxo Moniczka

Ohhhh triple chocolate ice cream…I need a tub of that right about now!

I'm glad your son's bad dreams went away! I don't have children but I have a dog and it breaks my heart when she has bad dreams.
