Look for Less Blogger Challenge

A few weeks ago I gave a few bloggers the challenge of coming up with a look for less.  I asked them to take an inspirational piece or outfit that they saw and find the items for less.  Six ladies took on this challenge.  Do you think you could do it?  If so, link up at the bottom of this post with your Look for Less and also link your post back to me!  Let’s introduce these lovely ladies shall we?

Olya over at Creative side of Me chose a look by Katie Holmes.  Here’s her look and description.

When Monica
asked bloggers who would like to participate in her “Get this look for
less” post, I got back to her right away. I don’t buy very expensive
clothes anyway, and so it sounded interesting to put together a cheaper version
of a celebrity look.
While I was
searching for outfit ideas, I ran across this photo of Katie Holmes. I knew it
wouldn’t be hard to replicate this casual and comfortable outfit, because it’s
so similar to what I like to wear when running errands in a cold weather.

Black leggings are a ‘must’ garment in my wardrobe. The boots are very comfortable, and their
neutral color makes them a great item to wear with many outfits. This green military
jacket I bought just a few weeks ago at Forever 21…and who doesn’t have a
medium-size black purse!  
A little about Olya.
I started blogging a
little over a year ago. I am stay-at-home mommy who gives all of her time to
her sweet family. I also enjoy fashion, style, shopping, photography, cooking,
decorating, and this blog is such a great place to develop this “creative side
of me.”

Samantha over at Starring Samantha decided to take inspiration from a Nicole Richie outfit.  Here are her pictures and description.

For my ‘get this look for less’, I aimed to get Nicole Richie’s look. I picked hers since it’s very simple, and easy for everybody to be able to replicate. Also, it’s super easy to dress up, and play around with, which I love. You can get her style and also add a bit of your own! 
Her simple black tank and high waisted shorts are so classic and can be found in many different stores. I got my tank from Forever 21 at under $2.00! Talk about a steal. The shorts I found at H&M for around $25.00. There are also a bunch of cute options from Forever 21 too if any of you want other alternatives! 
I paired the shorts and tank with a neutral blazer and shoes, giving it a more polished and less casual look, but feel free to play around with florals and prints, which can really change the look around. 

Faye is blogging over at The Faebulous Story.  She didn’t chose a celebrity, she chose a trend.  Here is her look for less and description.

The camouflage trend made its way to steal a scene in the fashion industry! I really wanted to try the camo trend for a long time because of its masculine & edgy look, but I never had a chance. So I took the opportunity when I got the best steal ever! There are so many ways to style a camouflage jacket but I chose a grungy style. I’ve found my style inspiration in my tumblr dashboard and I really fell in love with it. I’ve worn a colored pair of combat boots since I have no black combat boots then I added a high socks to make a statement. I can often see camouflage jackets in branded stores and it cost $35 and up, but I got mine for $6.75 (€5) at the bazaar. Amazing! Now you can really have this look for less! And if you don’t have bustier top, you could just wear any shirts that will suit the colors of your outfit. You just have to mix and match 🙂
