Breast Cancer Awareness

At 8:00 this morning registration opened for the Making Strides against Breast Cancer Walk in Parsippany, NJ.  Every year I try to do at least something for Breast Cancer Awareness since my birthday falls in October, whether it’s donate a little bit, buy something where proceeds go to Breast Cancer Awareness, or this year I did my first 5K walk!  I was walking for my friend’s mom who is a Breast Cancer Survivor, H E DOUBLE HOCKEY STICKS YEA!!!  Anyway, they expected over 15,000 walkers today, how awesome is that?  They also had the first pace setter team for Making Strides Parsippany.  Team Lynn raised over $27,000, that’s just amazing.

Let’s move on to some pictures of this awesome event.

Don’t mind the paint on my actually fingers, I kind of maybe sort of spilled the white nail polish…
Selfie this morning of all the pink I’m wearing.  My caption on Instagram and Facebook was “The one day it is 100% acceptable to be decked out in pink.”

My new bracelet.

My friend Amanda and I.  Her mom is a survivor, yay for Amanda’s mommy!  Also I have known Amanda since Freshman year of High School so that’s a very long time ago.

Lilly’s new chew toy.

This was just in the early minutes of the event.

Sorry for uploading all of the pictures of the flag but I think the sun was supporting the walk as well.  It shined pink!

Photo credit for this one goes to my friend Amanda.

So there you have it.  I walked my first Breast Cancer Awareness 5K and I am doing it again next year.  It was awesome to see all of the survivors, recently diagnosed, and all of their friends and family.  It’s such a beautiful thing to see.  See y’all next year!
This is dedicated in memory to those who lost their fight against Breast Cancer.
xoxo Moniczka
