Ok, so as some of you know, I attempt nail art every once in a while. Check out my patriotic nails, summer fruit nails, and vintage rose nails to see what I’ve done so far. It’s been a while since I tried out any nail art but since I received this amazing present last week from my supervisor on my birthday I figured I’d test it out this weekend. As soon as I got home Friday night I went to it! I’ve been wanting to try a cherry blossom design for the longest time. There’s just something about it that makes it look elegant and pretty and it didn’t seem as hard as other DIY nail arts. So here is my best version of a nail art tutorial for cherry blossoms!
First, the nail polish color that I used was Hopeless Romantic by OPI (found at Sephora, not online). So of course you do the usual filing and shaping of your nails, then put on your lovely nail color.
Secondly, draw black lines (if you are using these colors). Don’t make them perfect, let’s be honest here, no branch is perfect! Also, for each nail make it different. This makes it easier when you switch to your less dominant hand and attempt to be ambidextrous because no finger will be the same!
This next part is my favorite because it’s the easy part, at least for me. Take a pink color (or whatever color you prefer) and make five dots for the flower petals and put as many as you’d like on each finger. I tried to stay closer to the branches and then put a few outside.
The last part is putting the lovely white dot in the middle of each petal and voila you have finished your cherry blossom nail art ALL BY YOURSELF!!! Also, add a top clear coat!
If anyone has any special requests to challenge me leave it in the comments. I’m an amateur with nail art but I am always up for a challenge! Plus, practice makes perfect!

As someone fond of Japanese culture, I can surely appreciate the sakura (cherry blossoms) nail art. Very nice nail art by you here. Well done!

Thanks so much! Yea all of my coworkers (who are predominantly Asian, I work for a Taiwanese company) were so surprised to see it. Cherry blossoms are their "thing" too.
