I found this delicious recipe from Sally’s Baking Addiction. I wasn’t 100% sure how it was going to come out because first of all the recipe was so easy and there were very little ingredients in it. Below are some pictures and all the way at the bottom are the ingredients and the recipe. Enjoy!
Ingredients:
Filling:
2 Tablespoons water
2 cups diced strawberries
1/4 cup maple syrup
1 tablespoon sugar
Oatmeal Base and Topping:
2 1/4 cup quick oats
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1.5 sticks of butter
1 beaten egg
1/2 walnuts (almonds if you prefer)
Directions:
1. Strawberry filling: Take warm water and strawberries, maple syrup, sugar over medium heat. Bring to a boil and stir well. Look at the last picture of the strawberries, that’s what it should look like when it cools.
2. Preheat oven to 325 degrees F.
3. Crust/Topping: In a large bowl take the oats, cinnamon, butter, maple syrup and egg and stir. Reserve 1/2 cup of the mixture for the top. Take the reset of the mixture and pack it into an 8×8 baking pan. Pour the strawberry filling and once finished sprinkle the 1/2 cup of topping on top. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 25-30 minutes. Once you let it cool you can cut it into squares.
