Stand Out on Prom Night

There are just so many choices for prom dresses.  From princess ball gowns to high necks, embellishments, seasonal colors, and so much more.  How do you choose?

For starters, designer prom dresses 2016 will have you dazzling the prom and standing out as star of the night. It’s only a matter of choosing the right dress.

It’s not like the days of years gone by when every girl sort of dressed the same way for prom night. Today there are so many choices and people are a lot more open-minded. So you could don a body-hugging silhouette frock and stand out as the beauty of the ball.
But with all this choice it can be too easy to go wrong trying to look like your idols. We’ve put together some handy tips on how to choose the best prom dress from PeachesBoutique.com.

Know Your Body Type

The most important thing is to start by knowing what your body type is. Just because a model in a magazine looked amazing in a dress, it doesn’t mean it’s going to be right for you.
For instance, if you have a pear-shaped figure, you probably have a slender waist so the goal should be to balance out the hips and avoid widening the shoulders. These body shapes should stay away from mermaid dresses that place emphasis on hips and make you look bigger.

Prom Dresses That Are In Right Now

Designer prom dresses right now are available in a host of different shapes and styles. Here’s what’s hot:
·         Celebrity dresses – this are very in right now. They’re called celebrity dresses since they are an exact replica of what a certain celeb has been seen in on the red carpet.
·         Print dresses – if you’re keen to stand out and make your own fashion statement, pick a print dress that’s fun, playful, and a little flirty. They’re available in a wide range of colors and styles and could be just the choice to show off your personality at prom.
·         Ball gowns – whether you want to feel like a princess, are running for prom queen or both, a ball gown makes a wonderful statement. Today’s girls are shying away from long dresses but when done right, they are superb. The right fit and shade is very important to ensure you stand out.
·         Timeless classics – last year we saw lacy fabrics and embellishments make a big comeback. The good news is lace is here to stay. It adds a sense of delicateness to prom dresses, particularly with A-line, mermaid, column, and ball gown designer styles. By incorporating lace into your dress, you will truly feel and look elegant and sophisticated.
A lot of designer prom dresses that we know and love have made a comeback for 2015/2016. Dresses boasting high front slits, cut-out sides, and low backs as well as those made with illusion fabrics are all great choices, along with sequins and chiffon skirts. What’s more, the quintessential prom look of full skirts and lines are still popular choices for the upcoming event.

What Else is Hot Right Now?

Necklines are getting higher at the moment. This trend was started by celebrities and we’re seeing more of it on the runways. Think dresses with wide straps and necklines covered with rhinestones or halter necks.
Another designer prom favorite is dresses made with champagne and nude fabrics. Other hot colors for this season include navy, black, and jewel tones.

Final Thought

For many girls, prom is the biggest milestone of the school calendar. It’s a night to look forward to and always remember. All your special memories are going to be immortalized in numerous photos and on social media, so you’re going to want to look and feel like a star. And that starts with the perfect designer dress.
If you love long ball gowns, there is a big range this year. Even funky jumpsuits are popular right now and bound to have you shining on the night. Finally, shorter hemlines are very popular and ideal for displaying those designer heels.

Have fun with picking out your dress. There’s plenty to choose from.

So lovely post on prom night dresses! I love that black dress. I would like to buy that for my prom party that is going to be organized at one of my favorite Seattle venues. I am really excited for this party!
