Evil Eye Nail Art

via
The evil eye is a curse believed to be cast by a malevolent glare, which is usually given to a person when they are unaware. Many cultures believe that receiving the evil eye will cause misfortune or injury. Talismans created to protect against the evil eye are also frequently called “evil eyes”.

The evil eye, my obsession with this stems back all the way
to my college days.  I remember seeing
this pendant/design everywhere for the longest time and had no idea what it
stood for so one day I decided to look it up after I had asked someone what it
was.  I started reading up on it and
became so interested with the meaning behind it.  One of my old coworkers from when I worked in
retail was middle eastern and she brought back the most beautiful and uncommon
evil eye charm/bracelet.  It was red and
yellow instead of the typical blue, but it was so gorgeous and I still carry it
with me everywhere.  I had a few evil eye
bracelets, one of which broke and it was my favorite because it was pink!  Regardless, I love the meaning behind this,
and I love explaining it to people.

Now, one thing that was said in a comment last week on my
Valentine’s Day Nail Art design was where do I get my inspiration from.  To be honest a lot of times I just scroll
through Pinterest and find something and either see if I can replicate it, or
take the inspiration from it and make my own design out of it.  Pinterest is good for A LOT of DIY projects
one of which is nail art.  I very
seldomly look up nail art tutorials anymore because I’ve had a lot of trial and
error when it comes to nail art designs so now I can pretty much look and
something and figure it out on my own.
Probably one of my favorites is ombre because it looks so complex, but
it’s honestly one of the easiest nails I’ve done, minus the clean up.  The clean up portion is something I need to
work on because I have to purchase that special stuff (for a lack of a better
word) that you put around your nail that you just peel off once you’re
done.  I’m pretty sure I can make my own
with Elmer’s Glue.  Anyway, that’s pretty
much the simplified version or where my inspiration comes from.  Sometimes it even just comes from my mind,
like last week’s.  I had some
motifs/rhinestones to review and I just went with it and decided if it comes
out looking bad, oh well I’ll just redo my nails but I was happy with the
result.  I’ve also been obsessed with
gray lately so I think that’s why I liked it so much!
