Shades of Gray

Sunglasses:  Gucci // Top and Necklace:  New Chic//Top  Necklace // Newchic// Vest:  Ralph Lauren // Pants:  Ralph Lauren (old) // Boots:  Franco Sarto (Famous Footwear, old)
A few weeks ago I was contacted by New Chic to review some
items.  I must say I’m quite thrilled
with how beautiful these pieces are.  I’ve
already worn this sweater/tunic quite a few times.  It’s so easy to wear because you can wear it
with leggings but you can also wear it with pants.  You can wear it to be cozy, or wear it to be
chic.  I decided to pair the gray sweater
with the necklace that I also received from New Chic.  Some of those necklaces that they have are
absolutely gorgeous.  The quality of the
jewelry is great because it’s so detailed but it’s extremely lightweight so
even though it looks like you’re wearing a lot of metal, it doesn’t feel like
it.  I wore gray throughout the whole
outfit, but broke it up with this black puffer vest.  Such a great way to add comfort, warmth, and
a feeling of an effortless look.
Last week’s outfit posts were taken prior to Storm Jonas hitting
the East Coast.  I like to schedule posts
ahead of time just because life has been extremely hectic lately, and I’ve had
quite a few personal things happen that it’s nice to know that I have outfit
ideas to show my readers.  The whole time
I was taking these pictures I was a little worried that I was going to fall, as
you can see at how much I’m laughing in the first picture I almost did
fall.
That kind of brings me to what I wanted to mention in today’s
post.  I laugh at almost anything.  This may be a coping/defense mechanism or it
may be that I’m just really that happy all of the time.  I try to keep a positive attitude even when
my skies are gray (see what I did there haha).
I feel like the only way to get through a tough time is with humor or
with positivity.  I used to be the first
person to be a complete Debbie Downer and was always the first to look at an
issue negatively.  Now, I always try to
stay positive whether it’s for myself or for the person next to me freaking out
about whatever their issue is.  No matter
how big or small I do my best to stay positive.
Don’t get me wrong I still let out a good cry every once in a while, you
know the whole “snot coming out of your nose super ugly cry.”  Then once I’m done I think to myself wow I
look really hilarious with my makeup all down my face.
What’s the moral of the story?  Stay positive as much as you can.

I'm a big fan of gray no matter what my mood! Love the snowy setting. I'm jealous. I would love just a little taste of winter.

That was some storm! Glad you didn't fall Monica. I'm so like you as far as staying positive and laughing even in the face of despair. I love that about me. Then again when I cry which is pretty often, I let it real good. Snort and all believe me, hahaha. Stylewise, that necklace makes such a statement. I love it.

I'd give quite a bit to have some of your zest and optimism 🙂 I'm the sort which always seems to see the cup as being half empty. I know, I know, it's a work-in-progress but hey, could be a lot worse huh? And I absolutely love your hair. Love love love.

That's awesome when pieces can be remixed in lots of ways, especially for different styles of wear. This would be a great addition to the Fashionably Employed link up. Hope to see you there!

I agree it is best to stay positive and keep a sense of humor. The snow looks really nice and your outfit is super cute. I don't like heavy jewelry either I think part of looking good is being comfortable.
