Tomorrow is the end of Breast Cancer Awareness campaign here
on the blog. For today’s post I want to
talk about 5 facts about breast cancer.
I mean there are many more, but for today’s 5 for Friday I want to keep
it all about Breast Cancer Awareness. At
the end of each Breast Cancer Awareness post this week I’ve been adding the
Breast Cancer Fact of the Day. Well,
today is going to be all about facts as per my research.

One in Eight Women in the United States will be diagnosed
with breast cancer in her lifetime.
with breast cancer in her lifetime.
One in eight ladies.
Now to change the perspective for you a little bit, this means that it’s
estimated over 246,660 women in the US will be diagnosed with breast cancer and
more than 40,000 will die. That means
that 206,000 of those women will survive.
That’s still not a high enough statistic in my opinion.

Men can be diagnosed with Breast Cancer too.
A lot of people have this misconception that only women can
be diagnosed with breast cancer, however even though it’s rare, men can be
diagnosed too. An estimated 2,600 men
will be diagnosed with breast cancer and approximately 440 will die each year.

Breast Cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer in
Women.
Women.
Not only is it the most commonly diagnosed in women but it’s
also the second leading cause of cancer death among women. I researched that lung cancer is number
one.

On average every two minutes a woman is diagnosed with
breast cancer and 1 woman will die of breast cancer every 13 minutes.

EVERY 13 MINUTES 1 WOMAN WILL DIE OF BREAST CANCER. That’s the length of about 4-5 songs depending
on their length, or the length of how much you can watch of your favorite show
before they cut to commercial.

Over 2.8 million breast cancer survivors are alive in the
United States today.

So, on a more positive note, I know a few women that are
part of that 2.8 million that survived.
