If you’ve been following me on literally any one of my
social media accounts you already know about my new car. I was involved in a car accident last month
where a Mercedes Sprinter Commercial Van hit me. It was the second time I was rear ended in
less than a year! A little side note
people GET OFF YOUR FLIPPIN’ CELL PHONES, STOP DOING YOUR MAKEUP, AND PAY
ATTENTION! The only problem is that this
time around they totaled my car. Y’all
have no idea how upset I was. Not only
was I in physical pain (my back is still hurting a month later) but I was
emotionally distraught over my favorite car of all time. If you’ve been following this blog of mine
for a while you already know that I’m a car enthusiast. I’m one of those girls who can’t drive
automatic and is totally ok with getting dirty when it comes to my car. I’ve had multiple coworkers come to me for
car advice or issues over the past couple of years. Now, I don’t know nearly as much as some of
these female mechanics out there (y’all are badass!) so I’m not going to sit
here and pretend to be a mechanic. I
know basics but am willing to learn the more complex things.

Well, after an extremely stressful couple of days, I was
given literally just a weekend (and car dealerships are closed on Sundays) to
find a car after mine had been totaled.
I was not prepared to buy a car, nor did I even WANT to. I wanted my Volvo. I cried the whole way home after saying
goodbye to my car one last time and then I had to put on my big girl pants,
suck it up, and find a car. I didn’t
even know where to start. My
requirements were I wanted AWD, Manual, not silver, car (I’m not ready for SUV’s
yet), and something sporty. When I was
talking to my boyfriend since he’s a mechanic I threw out ideas of what I
wanted and then moved on to actual cars I was interested in. We narrowed it down to a few with Subaru on
that list. We went to the first Subaru
dealership Friday night and test drove a 2015 WRX. I fell in love. The only downfall of the car was it was
silver. It had all of my other
requirements except the color. I was
willing to settle until they wouldn’t negotiate the financial part of it. So I decided I would leave and think about it. It still wasn’t bad and would fit into my
budget BUT I wanted to think about it first.
On the way home Joey knew that the one thing I never wanted again in a
car was the color silver. He didn’t want
me to settle so he was looking up other WRX’s in the area. He found one!
It was PERFECT. It cost less (the
dealer really didn’t know what they had) it had less miles, they were willing
to negotiate, AND it was black! Once
Joey told me it was black I was sold.
The next morning we woke up super early and were the first customers on the
lot! Needless to say we know how this
ends because well, I’m driving a 2015 Subaru WRX haha.

I have already named her and she already has a generic
nickname. Her name is T-Rex because some
people pronounce the WRX the same way you would in T-Rex. I also call her Scooby because Subie, Scooby,
get it? Haha. Someone I know didn’t actually get it so I
had to explain it to them. The first
thing that was changed on the car were the mufflers. They were taken off and will have a new
exhaust system with a muffler delete on once I’m able to order that. Then, the one downfall in Subaru’s is the
audio system. Coming from a Volvo that
had a mini subwoofer (stock) I couldn’t listen to a rinky dink stereo. Joey installed an entirely new system along
with a 12 inch JL Audio Subwoofer. When
it comes to car audio I know absolutely zero.
What kind of an amp is in there I really have no idea, all I know is my
car now goes boom boom. Joey also
installed a tablet head unit that sits flush with the rest of the dash. It looks so freakin cool. The entire trunk had to be custom made to fit
the subwoofer and it’s box which the box still isn’t done. If you follow on insta you already saw the
sub. The wooden piece in the picture
will have a fabric of skulls with bows on it.
The rest of the trunk has a sparkle black denim which is literally the
perfect fit for this entire custom built box.
Then we also decided to start adding little dabs of pink here and
there. Since this past weekend was
extremely hectic we were only able to get these two little pieces done (one
piece of pink on each side) but eventually there will be more done.

I’ll be posting updates here on the blog as the car gets
built into my own. There’s a lot that
needs to be done both under the hood and cosmetically to make her 110% my car
but bit by bit it will get done. I’m so
happy to finally have a car that I can modify because they actually make parts
for it and it’s a lot less expensive! If
you want to follow me on Insta you’ll be able to keep up with the build since
that’s where I post everything first.

I will forever miss my Volvo because she was my
unicorn. The model after mine was the
last model ever made of the C70’s. She
was my favorite car but she died keeping me safe and sound so for that I thank
her. However, if the person who hit me
somehow found me online and is reading this particular part of my post, pay
attention to the road, get off your cell phone it can wait. You went on living like it was no big deal but me,
that was the second time in less than a year that I was at a full stop minding
my own business. I’m the type of person who loves cars and
loves driving. That will never be taken
away from me, but looking in my rear view mirror is my number one fear now.
