Black Peplum Top: INC similar here and here // Pants: Banana Republic sold out similar here // Shoes: Gucci // Bag: Ewa Bazaar (Gucci) // Necklace: Macy’s (old) similar here
For those of you who have been following me for a while, you know that back in the day when I gained all of that weight I was NOT comfortable in a peplum top. I would avoid every type of peplum top there was. Since I’m bottom heavy, well I gain weight in my bottom first, wearing peplum tops used to be my thing because my waist was always small. Up until it wasn’t small anymore and I had gained weight in my stomach. Then I lost all of that weight. I wore my first peplum top in a long time back in the fall from one of my Banana Republic hauls. I wasn’t going to even try it on until my mom basically forced me to. I looked at myself in the mirror and was stunned with how much better I looked and felt in a peplum top now.
I’m not afraid to wear peplum tops now, which is why I’m wearing one today. It isn’t as fitted as my other one, but it still looks awesome and I felt awesome in this outfit. Everyone says I’m known for my statement necklaces or scarves so of course I had to pair this outfit with a nice bold necklace. The pants are actually from Banana Republic and they were so comfortable. I love that with these pants you can either dress them up to go to the office, or even dress them down for a casual brunch with the girls. Lately I’ve been looking for a lot of clothing that I can wear to work and in my own personal life.
I have to admit that even though I’m a fashion blogger sometimes I really just want to walk out in public in my leggings, a tshirt, and UGG’s. I actually have done this a few times. Sometimes you just don’t want to dress the part, ya know? I don’t do this often, but sometimes I want to just relax and not care what I’m wearing. Maybe it also has to do with the fact that it’s still cold here in NJ because I tend to dress up more during the spring and summer months which it’s technically spring, even though it doesn’t feel like it. This outfit is stunning! I love the subtle print on your pants and your shoes are so fabulous. I steered away from peplum for a long time as well until I found the right ones for me. For me, it needs to be a looser fitting peplum as well. But now I love them! This outfit is super flattering!

I had an aversion to peplum tops too because all my weight always goes to my middle. But I found if I went up one size in a peplum top, it looked much better.

I remember when peplums first came out and so many people were like—no way am I wearing that style! But I really think they can look fabulous—no matter what your size!

I love peplums that fit a little larger. I find that if it's really fitted it just doesn't give me the right proportions. You look gorgeous in this top and I love those pants! I totally wear uggs, leggings and oversized sweaters…I don't know if that's a real good thing being a fashion blogger but oh well. Sometimes I just love comfort clothes!

So classic! I loved. It's exactly the style I like to use in my law firm (I am a mother of four, married, Catholic, housewife, fashion blogger and lawyer).
