Entertaining with Joan of Arc® Goat Cheese this Holiday Season

I know that I don’t normally post on Sundays, but I couldn’t wait to bring you these two delicious recipes using Joan of Arc® Goat Cheese.  Keep reading for more information!

When you think of goat cheese, you think of a salad topper, or something of that nature.  Would you ever think that you could use goat cheese in some fun appetizers?  Now that we are already 5 days into November, the holidays are coming up and trust me they will be here faster than we think.  I wanted to show two easy ways to use goat cheese as part of an appetizer or even a dessert.  I have two recipes for you today!

Today I’ll be using Joan of Arc® Goat Cheese for my two recipes.  This goat cheese on it’s own is actually really good.  I made the mistake of taste testing and ended up finding out what my newest guilty pleasure is.  It doesn’t taste like your normal goat cheese.  I feel like a lot of times people think that goat cheese is really gross and it tastes weird, but I must say this particular one by Joan of Arc® was really creamy and the taste was amazing.  I can’t even describe it besides just saying it was delicious.  Before I get into the recipes I have for you today, I wanted to let you know that these were extremely easy to make and they are so good!
Bacon Goat Cheese Jalapeno Poppers
Ingredients
  • 1/4 cup Joan of Arc® Goat Cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup less fat cream cheese, softened
  • Pinch of Salt
  • 1/4 tsp Black Pepper
  • 1/4 tsp Garlic Powder
  • 8 Medium Jalapenos, halved and seeded
  • 1 Slice of Turkey Bacon (or regular bacon, whichever you prefer)
  • 2 tblsp Red Pepper Jelly
  • 1 tsp Water

Directions
  1. Preheat Oven to 350
  2. Combine goat cheese, cream cheese, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder in a bowl and stir well.
  3. Divide filling (number 1) among peppers.  Bake until peppers are tender or starting to get a little brown.  This took me about 15 minutes.  I would watch yours though because my oven bakes everything extremely fast, which is why I burned so many things in the beginning. HAHA!
  4. Combine jelly and water and put on jalapenos while still hot.  Then add the bits of bacon.

**If you choose you can get creative and add other things to the stuffing like onions, mushrooms, or anything of that nature!

Goat Cheese Cheesecake Bites
Ingredients
  • 1/4 cup Joan of Arc® Goat Cheese, softened
  • 1/3 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/3 cup plain 2% Greek Yogurt
  • 1/2 tsp Vanilla extract
  • 15 thawed frozen mini fillo shells
  • Strawberry preserves (or whatever preserve of your choice)
Directions
  1. Mix all of your ingredients together (minus the fillo shells and preserves) and mix in a cup.
  2. Take about 1.5 tsp of filling into each shell.
  3. Take about 1/2 tsp of preserves into each shell.

I hope y’all enjoyed these recipes and if you make them please make sure to tag me and let me know what you think of them!  I think they’re really tasty, especially the cheesecake bites, but I have a severely big sweet tooth!  Thank you to Joan of Arc® Goat Cheese for sponsoring this post.  I would’ve never tried this goat cheese if it wasn’t for this sponsorship and I must say I’m a new and loyal customer!  The cheese is so extremely creamy by itself but so extremely delicious in these recipes.  Just remember goat cheese isn’t just for salads anymore.  There are numerous recipes out there!  These two I found on Cooking Light and My Recipes.  I altered them a little bit to my liking though.
