Owl and Banana Dress

Ankle Socks:  Berkshire Legs

Y’all, I think it’s finally starting to warm up here in NJ! AHHHH!  I’m super excited about this because well, I’m done with snow!

I started liking this whole sock and shoe trend that’s been going on, I’ll touch more base on this next week because I have another outfit that I LOVE and cannot wait to show y’all.  It’s seriously my new favorite.  It’s just been a bit too cold to actually wear it around.  Believe it or not, it was super cold and windy when I was taking these pictures.  This is probably why I’ve gotten sick so many times over the past few years because I’m not responsible whatsoever when it comes to keeping myself warm or covered.

Tomorrow is my last day at work.  I’m actually really sad.  It was an insane 5+ years and it’s so bittersweet.  I’ll be leaving the job that molded me into the business woman that I am today.  One of my coworkers from the very beginning of me working there (she hasn’t been with the company for about 3 years) was the one that pushed me to start blogging again.  So in a way, I have my job to thank for getting my blog back up and running.  I’m not leaving on bad terms which is probably why it’s going to be waterworks the entire day.  Each and every person I met in that building has taught me something in business and life.  My VP was notorious for giving us life speeches.  He actually cared about the youth of the department.  He would hold meetings both for business and sometimes even to teach us something like Roth IRA’s.  He truly cared about us.  My supervisor was the best supervisor I ever had.  She believed in all of us and was always standing up for us, no matter what.

I never felt this way about a job.  I worked at some pretty terrible places and came from retail.  At my last job one of my managers actually asked me in secret how I felt that she had a better position than me and I have an MBA meanwhile she had just High School.  I’ll never forget how I felt in that moment.  I actually felt bad for her that she was so insecure and threatened by me that she had to go and say something like that.  It’s almost like she had to prove herself.  I was in shock when she said this because I kept my education to myself and never ever thought I was better than anyone.  I went to Grad School for myself, not to prove myself to anyone.  I actually liked her up until that moment.  She was never mean towards me and I actually thought she liked me, then she said that.  When I landed my job of the last 5+ years I saw how the professional world is supposed to be.

I’ll never forget my time there, but it’s time to start a new chapter.

**Please note I was given these socks as a review, however all opinions are my own.

What a cute dress! I love the print. Fruit patterned dresses are so much fun! Saying goodbye is never easy especially to people that you care about and enjoy being with. I hope tomorrow goes smoothly as this part of your life closes. Looking forward to hearing about your new adventures with your new job.
