Printed Shorts-Guest Post: Maureen from Little Miss Casual

**Hey everyone!  I’m currently on vacation so please check out today’s guest blogger Maureen from Little Miss Casual.

Hello friends and happy Tuesday!

I am Maureen over at Little Miss Casual and I am filling in today for Monica while she is on vacation! I was so excited when Monica invited me to guest post because not only is it an honor but what I honestly love the most about blogging is making news friends!

In case you are not familiar with me, I am a stay-at-home-mom to my 4-year-old son.  I started my blog as a creative outlet and have been blogging for a little over 10 months now.  My blog share snippets about my life including but not limited to fitness, travel, motherhood and personal style.

Speaking of personal style, today I wanted to talk about printed shorts.

OUTFIT DETAILS:

Top: BP (old, similar here) | Shorts: NY&CO outlet (old, similar here) | Shoes: Tory Burch (old, similar here) | Bag: Kylie & Kendall (old, similar here) | Sunglasses: Burberry (old, similar here) | Lips: Lust by MAC

I have a love/hate relationship with shorts.  To me, they are the one piece of clothing item that has given me a lot of grief.  With a thicker waist and muscular thighs, finding shorts that fit has always been a struggle.  So, when I saw this printed short at an NY&CO outlet store in Las Vegas a few years ago, I knew my search for a pair was over.

As it turns out, a well-fitting short can be flattering, comfortable and easy to wear.  Not only is a printed short playful and colorful but this eye-catching bottom is timeless and a nice substitute to your favorite pair of denim cut-offs.  While there are so many ways you can style a pair of printed shorts, the easiest way would be with a solid colored top, making sure the short is the star attraction.  In my opinion, the pieces in this outfit compliments each other nicely and the best part, this is an everyday look that never fails! As far as finishing touches go, no look is complete without shoes and accessories.  I finished off my look with my favorite slip-on shoes and backpack for an easy hands-free day! I can’t wait to pair a cozy light pullover sweaterand ankle bootieswith this short for Autumn.

Unfortunately, this printed short is old but if you are in search of the perfect pair, try these other cute options I found:

  • Here’s a floral print short by Topshopthat would be perfect for a get together with friends or a beach outing
  • When it comes to quality and comfort, this BP linen striped shortsfits the bill
  • If you are a fan ruffles, this pink ruffle hem short from Somedays Lovinare just the cutest!

Now it’s your turn, what’s your favorite way of styling printed shorts?
