Casual Chic Summer Outfit-Guest Post: Ruth from My Little Nest

**Hey everyone, I’m on vacation, so let’s welcome today’s guest blogger Ruth from My Little Nest.
Hello everyone! I’m Ruth from My Little Nest and I’m stepping in for Monica as she is enjoying her vacation. I love fashion and all things that make up a wardrobe. I blog about enjoying the classics, trying new trends and hopefully provide inspiration to not be afraid to dress for yourself so stop by and say hi anytime!
Oh summer. Most of the time I throw on whatever cutoffs and neutral tank I can get my hands on because it’s all about not sweating right? I do have days when I want to look put together but don’t want to worry about looking overdone or being too hot. I have found my favorite casual chic look for summer and it’s one anyone can pull off!

I like to skip out on denim on the hot days and find a cooler fabric to wear. I also love the built in belt on these paper bag shorts, if they don’t come with one attached  then definitely add one to your shorts! It really makes it a more refined and polished look.
Next is to look for a tank that you can tuck into the shorts. This will elongate the look of your legs and defines your waist for a more sleek look. This tank is a lightweight and it keeps me cool no matter what the temp is. I wore this top in Florida when the humidity was at 90% and it helped so much.
Slides are an easy go to solution for a mom (or anyone really). I found these ones on Amazon for a great price and are so comfy and stylish. I call it the trifecta.
Finally adding in those accessories really can make a more polished and put together look. A trendy structured straw bag make this feel more summery while adding a minimalistic necklace and watch brings the whole look together that makes it my own.
Because fall is around the corner (I know already???) adding a denim jacket as a layering piece for those cool fall mornings would make this a great transitional outfit!A big thank you to Monica for letting me host on your blog for the day. I hope you all stop by and see me over on my corner of the internet!Ruth

Lovely stylish look Ruth! Love your cute top knot! I’m wrapping in knitwear here in England already, but enjoy the last of your summer heat!

Cute, chic and comfy! Love the high waisted shorts and the color is a beautiful neutral. I can see it working for Autumn as well. Your top knot, Ruth, is super adorable I need to try this on my hair!
