Cruela De Vil Halloween Costume and a Linkup HAPPY HALLOWEEN KIDS!

Ever since I was little, I always loved Disney princesses.  Sleeping Beauty and Snow White were my absolute favorites.  I always thought they were so pretty and they showed me life is so beautiful being a princess after you go through something like fall asleep until your one true love comes and saves you lol.  I guess that’s where I get my love for sleep from haha!

Then I grew up.

I saw that life isn’t beautiful like the fairytales, and to be completely honest, I relate more to villains now that I’m an adult.  There’s a reason why they became villains.  They went through some traumatic thing and instead of fighting through it and becoming a better person (in society’s eyes, because in their eyes it’s different), they fought through it and came out much stronger, but not as nice.  I get it though.  Sometimes when you go through things, it’s never the same afterwards and I can understand the villains.  They finally had enough.  They stopped playing nice because it didn’t get them anywhere.  The reason I can relate is because even though I came out stronger through everything I’ve been through, I was walking a very fine line of becoming an angry person.  I chose a different route and to play nice, but only with certain people.  I have my guard up, and after being naive for so long, I have learned to change my ways.  I don’t completely shut people out, but I’m careful.

I chose Cruela de Vil as my villain this year (I’m actually entering into my work costume competition today with this, wish me luck to win!).  Even though I love puppies and don’t agree with anything she did, there were parts of 101 Dalmatians that stuck out in my mind.  One of which is when I use a pen that’s not working.  Does anyone remember in the cartoon when she’s trying to sign the paperwork for the dalmatians and she starts yelling “this blasted pen!” and it goes everywhere?  Yea, I yell this blasted pen whenever a pen isn’t working haha.  I also loved her hair!  I thought it was weird, but I loved it. I’m not going to lie, I felt really sassy in this outfit.  My fiancé even said that I had a little attitude change when I wore it.  Well, honey, I’m playing the part of a villain, I have to be sassy.

    Happy Halloween Monica!! Have a fantastically scary evening! When I grew up I thought good was good and bad was bad. Of course now, I realise ‘good’ people can turn ‘bad’ and some ‘bad’ can turn ‘good’. The difficult part is taking the time to understand each others journey.     You should definitely win! You look amazing and I’ve been so impressed with your costumes…You and Jenni and Pocketful of Polkadots! I was always that one that waited til the day before or the day of and threw on some haphazard things. I get your villain thoughts…I’m glad you didn’t turn out to really be one cuz you might not be here doing what you’re doing and then I might not “know” you. 😉

    Monica, you are killing it in this one! My goodness, you look amazing! And seriously, I would wear this outfit as a regular everyday outfit sans the wig! I wanted to die my hair like this (half white and half black) but my stylist said it would take way too much processing and a whole lot of money to get my black hair to white. Oh well, pipe dreams!

    I am loving all of your Halloween costume posts, my friend. And I wish you luck in the costume contest. You certainly will stand out as one of the best, I’m sure!

    Happy belated Halloween Monica! You are a fabulous Cruella! I do agree that life experiences changes us and I am also guarded on people who enters my life. Not everyone is a friend and that’s just a truth. I hope you won the contest. You definitely have my vote!
