Scarecrow Halloween Costume, Why I love Halloween, & and Linkup

Blazer:  Shein // Pants:  LOFT // Shoes:  UGG (Old, similar here) // Hat:  Ralph Lauren

A few weeks ago, Shein had asked me to review a few pieces and this top was one of them.  I was super excited because it’s your typical fall piece.  I was a little bummed when I saw that it was more of a shirt than a blazer, because I was really looking for a blazer like this, however, I think I may like the shirt idea better.  It’s really light weight and comfy, and when I was thinking of costumes for my Halloween Series, I thought this top was the perfect top for more of a glam scarecrow.  This was an easy costume to do at home, and I already had the wig from the past two years so I put it together and it all worked.

Now, a lot of people have asked me why do I love Halloween so much, I may even be slightly obsessed with the holiday.  Here are some of my reasons why I love Halloween.

Creativity

Have you seen any of these costumes and the makeup people can do for Halloween?  Some of them are so extremely creative and out of the box.  Or you have people that can recreate the Demogorgon from Stranger Things.  There was a video that surfaced on Facebook last year of a guy who made a Demogorgon costume that actually opened and closed.  It was amazing.  I also love seeing the really corny costumes and how people take something and turn it into a pun.  Take for example this costume (you can pinterest search this) of a Cereal Killer instead of Serial Killer, and they have all different types of cereal boxes on their costume.  It’s a really corny, but awesome idea.

The Dark and the unknown

There’s something about Halloween that brings out the ghost stories and the unknown.  When people start talking about ghost stories I always want to hear more, and I love that all of the scary movies come out around Halloween.  Is anyone seeing the new Halloween?  I am terrified of Michael Myers, but LOVE watching all of the movies.

Being Scared

It’s an adrenaline rush.  I love being scared.  I love haunted hay rides, I love haunted houses.  It’s all great.  I went to Pennhurst Asylum a few years ago with some friends and it was such an awesome time.  I was more interested in actually looking at the buildings than going through the typical haunted house type stuff, but it was still cool.  There’s also a haunted hay ride by me that I love because they did such a good job with it.  Halfway through they stop and you have hot cider and donuts.  I LOVE hot cider.  It beats pumpkin spice out of the water.  I actually really don’t like pumpkin spice, I like pumpkin, but not pumpkin spice.  But I’d totally take a hot apple cider over a PSL any day.

Being in Character

This is why I think I would have so much fun at Comic Con, or anything of that nature.  I absolutely love dressing up for Halloween and being in character.  It’s just so fun to me.  You get to act like someone else, someone that you like.  I’m all about being yourself, but when you get to dress up and act like your favorite character (or at least try to) it’s so much fun.  Maybe it’s just me though, but I don’t think I’ll ever stop liking Halloween.  I’m 31 an I still love every second of it.

That is such a cool yet easy to recreate costume…I love it! Halloween has really become a big thing over the years. I’m not all that into it myself, but I do enjoy seeing creative costumes especially when they involve detailed makeup.

And I’m just the opposite….I hate being scared!! But dressing up can be fun, and some people are SO creative with their costumes. In fact, I just love to see what people come up with.

Love this costume and you did a great job on the make up! Simply put, you totally nailed this! I was not too big on Halloween until my son was born. Then I can appreciate how fun it really is to be somebody or something else for one night! I still stand by I am chicken for scary movies so no thank you on those. I do get quite interested in ghost stories too especially learning about past history. None of the ones that are made up crap though.
