Today we say goodbye to 2018. It has been quite the year! I’m actually very happy with how 2018 turned out. I feel like I’m ending this year on an extremely good note with so much accomplished and so many new goals to come. I wanted to take a look back at my resolution post from last year. I’ve accomplished a lot of what’s on that list!
Consolidate Student Loans
I DID IT! I consolidated my student loans into one payment that will be paid off within the next 10 years (less now because I already started paying off this particular loan).
Take Control of my Health
In my post that I wrote in January, I talked about how I wanted to try the Ketogenic diet to see if it would help me feel better in regards to my epilepsy. I stayed on medicine and tested out the diet at the same time. I felt GREAT! I talked about my experience with Keto and then I also tried Keto and IF which was great too. Keto really did make me feel on point, the only problem was sticking to it because it is very hard to maintain. Towards the end of the year, I also tested out Whole30, however I hated that diet haha. If you want to take a look at any of my health posts from this year please see below:
Keto, Intermittent Fasting, 21DF, Beachbody, BBG
Save for a House
This is something I didn’t really start doing, but I DID start saving money. We are trying to do the best we can to get out of the apartment and into a home, but we shall see what happens!
Save for the Wedding
This is also something that I didn’t really start doing. However, I think I convinced my fiance to just do a small wedding for now and then on our 10th anniversary do the big wedding that every girl dreams of, even though that’s not really my thing haha.
Less time blogging, more time with friends and family.
This is something I met halfway with. I did take a little more time to myself, mostly because I started a new job back in April which took a lot of time away from my blog, so every little second was spent on my blog while my family suffered not seeing me. Then I finally realized that I need to take some time. There were times where I said I could leave the blogging alone for a few hours and spend some time with family. However, this has been a busy few months for my blog so hopefully I can take some more time off next year!

Changing up my Fashion a Bit
I did this! I got a little more experimental with my fashion choices, and I tried out trends and things that I would never try before. I mean, I got myself to open up to wearing more crop tops. That alone is a huge deal for me!
A FEW MORE THINGS I ACCOMPLISHED THIS YEAR
Paid off my Credit Cards!
I officially paid off all of my credit cards! After racking up my credit cards to $25K+, after 6 years, I finally paid off EVERY. LAST. PENNY. This is something that I can’t even put into words of how proud I am of myself. I was young and dumb, and spent money on the wrong people in my life, then the debt somehow snowballed out of my control, and it became $25K+ by the end of 2012.
I got a new job.
I said goodbye to my job of 5+ years and started a new adventure in my life. It’s been 9 months, and I’m still learning something new every day. I still think about my last job and how it was so much easier because I already knew everything, but it’s nice to be challenged every day.
I started to be a little smarter with money.
This was something I wanted to do, once I was debt free from my credit cards. I wanted to make sure that I paid those off first, prior to starting any type of savings account. I know this is dumb in certain cases, especially when I needed to fix my car and the parts cost $1K+, but I finally did it!
Hair Colors
I’ve been multiple different hair colors this year haha. My dream was to always try out different hair colors. Thanks to my new job I was able to test out different fantasy colors, since they are a little more lenient and relaxed. I’ve been gray, blue, green (once the blue faded lol two colors for the price of one!), purple, and pink.
I wanted to wish everyone a happy and healthy 2019. May this new year bring you nothing but happiness and goal crushing!
xoxo Monica
