When I saw these pants I instantly reminded myself of High School. It’s because I saw the chain, and it reminded me of the goth kids in school (which by the way were some of the nicest people) who would attach their wallets to a chain or, they just liked the way the chain looked so they made it a part of their outfit. I feel like it makes an outfit a little more badass. The chain on these pants can also be removed, so if you don’t want a chain on them on a certain day you can take it off. Also, if you do buy these pants, be careful when getting in your car lol. I got stuck on the lever to adjust the seat because the chain wrapped itself around it.
I also wanted to take a quick moment to talk about the history behind the first few pictures by the rock wall. For those of you who don’t know, my parents immigrated from Poland back in the 80’s. My dad and mom are high school sweethearts. My mom wasn’t a fan of my dad at first (haha!) but then she got to know him and all of the sudden my dad swept my mom off her feet and they started dating. They knew they would be together for the long haul. Well, after high school, my dad got the news that him and his parents FINALLY got their Visas after so many years of waiting. My mom didn’t think it would happen so fast, but she decided that she too would move to America to be with my dad. My parents were already married at the time, but unfortunately, my mom was denied her Visa. My parents were married for almost 4 years and didn’t see each other for those 4 years until my mom finally received her Visa! Within that 4 years my dad would send my mom letters and pictures, because at that time, calling internationally cost an arm and a leg. My dad came here with $5 in his pocket (because he spent the other $5 on a beer that he bought for a Swedish guy on the boat) and learned English as fast as he could so he could start working.
One day, my dad and his parents decided to take a drive to this lake. My dad had taken a picture at this exact stone wall (the outfit he was wearing was sooooooo 80’s). He sent the photo to my mom in a letter and wrote that one day they will live there. Fast forward to when my mom finally made it over. They drove up to this very spot and took a picture together and dreamed of how they would one day live here. Once my younger brother was born we moved to where my parents dreamed of moving to since the beginning of their immigration to the U.S. We’ve lived here for the past 25 years. We have many pictures at this lake, and this place will always mean so much to me, because seeing my parents live their dream makes me so proud of them and happy for them.

Monica, I am dying over this outfit! I love these pants paired with the leopard boots and the kickass moto jacket. So cool! And this is Lake Mohawk, correct? I used to live in the Lake Mohawk community. My first marriage, our first house. We were not right on the lake, but I am quite familiar with it. And what a beautiful story you have about the meaning of it to your family!

Yes, it is Lake Mohawk! Such a small world we live in! it’s beautiful out here, especially on the lake. In the summer time I love going to the ice cream shop, and the pizza place right on the corner has some of the best pizza I’ve ever eaten!
