My mom and I are bringing you another Who Wore It Better post! We made sure to take a bunch of photos together before I moved so that we could have a bunch of them lined up for you. Unfortunately, eventually we won’t have anymore. At that point, I think we will have to shop together and send each other the items to wear in our own way. In today’s post, we decided to style these pants from Banana Republic. When I talked about the sloan pant a few weeks ago, I talked about how they are good for any shape and size body. This is a good example of that. Even though they are slightly tighter on me because I’m more bottom heavy than my mom, they still fit perfectly. They hug in all the right places to make sure I’m looking my best. My moms legs have always been super skinny. We call them chicken legs because no matter how much my mom eats, she NEVER gains weight in her legs. I definitely did not get that gene from her haha.
Anyway, I wanted to say that I’m going to start taking my blog in another direction. I’m going to add more than just fashion posts. I want to try and incorporate more lifestyle posts. These include anything from how to grow your hair faster, to how I got myself out of debt, and even some intro to photography. I want to make sure there’s a little more to this blog than just my outfits and my random thoughts and rants haha. For those of you who will decide to no longer follow me that’s ok I totally understand! To those who will continue to follow, thank you so much for stickin’ around and I’ll try to make sure I don’t disappoint.
The reason behind this change is because I want more diverse content on my blog. Fashion is great, but I’ve noticed that the market for fashion bloggers is so saturated, that I will never make it in that world. I want to have a little bit of everything for everyone. Its also become really hard to take fashion blogging pictures because of the move. All of the fashion posts I have are saved up from when I was still in NJ. My fiance works Monday through Saturday, and Sunday’s are the only days where we can work on the house that we just moved into. So taking fashion photos are the last thing on my mind.
xoxo Monica

Your mum does have the most amazing legs! Great trousers – you both look fabulous! I think your blog already has the soul of a lifestyle blog. Maybe it’s because you are so willing to share yourself on here and not just what you wear. Good luck with your change of direction, I look forward to seeing what you do xx

She will love to read your comment haha! Thank you for the luck, and I’m excited to switch it up a bit.

You girls are so cute! I love those pants and think they really do alot to elongate the legs. I’m so glad you showed your momma wearing them because I really wouldn’t have considered for myself. I personally think mixing the fashion with other stuff is the way to show your true influence! Can’t wait to see what you come up with.

My mom will try many different trends, even if they aren’t shown on anyone but women my age or younger. She doesn’t believe that fashion is only for one age group. It’s how you wear it and style it that makes the difference.

Monica, these pants are so fun and they look great on both of you. And those blue shoes, my friend, are magnificent! I totally look forward to the changes you mention for your content. Please teach me how to get out of debt! I am a hot mess and can use all the tips I can get!

They are Betsey Johnson! I’ve had them for almost 10 years. I bought them as a graduation present to myself when I got my MBA, and walked in them during graduation. That post is coming up. I have a lot of fun posts for sure.

The striped pants are great. I was wondering what you guys were going to do about the “Who Wore It Better” Posts. It’s great that you were able to take a bunch of photos before moving.

Unfortunately, we didn’t take enough to last for a long time, only a few weeks. However, we might be able to figure something out, or I’ll just make my mom come visit me sooner haha!

Those pants look great on both of you. I know you hate that you and your mom can’t take pics on the regular together…you’ll just have to take trips to each other. 😉 Diversifying the blog is great. More material, more content, it’s all good! XO

Thank you! I’m very excited in adding more content that’s different to my blog.

Those blue shoes rock Monica! And in my opinion, you both wore it best! Honestly, you both look great. While I love the jacket she wore, I love the top that you paired your pants with. I also think that’s an awesome idea for doing more lifestyle posts. It’s hard to keep talking about fashion especially since it is saturated but not only that, there’s only so many ways you can style a piece of item. That’s just my two cents. I hope your week is off to a good start and happy Wednesday!

Agreed! I’ve tried to use my fashion posts as a way to get people to read the content I write, but unfortunately, sometimes people just skip over it. I just want to add more value to my blog.

These outfits are so cute! I’m loving striped pants like this right now and hadn’t thought of styling them with wedges.

You both look gorgeous as always…you and your mom – I just love it. You’re going to continue a path of fashion edginess and fun, as we can see from your momma. Anyway, I will be embracing your lifestyle posts for sure. I get change and transition and love how we get to grow through it! I hope you guys are settling well and that you get lots done on your home.
Jersey Girl, Texan Heart says
Thank you Chrissy 🙂 it’s been a transition, and I can’t get used to a few things here in Florida, but I’m sure I will eventually. We are currently painting the entire house, so hoping to get that done before our furniture gets here.
