If y’all follow me on Instastories, this picture is a regular occurrence when I work out at home. Lilly tends to just sleep on the couch or watch me, but Zero is all about getting her workout in as well, ESPECIALLY when it comes to Yoga. SHE LOVES YOGA! I really think she likes it more than me haha.
Anyway, in today’s Monday Motivation post, I wanted to talk about my favorite at home workouts. Most of my working out is done at home. I’m the type of person, where I get really self conscious in a gym, and I also get intimidated. There are so many people who look amazing, and know the ins and outs of every machine. I used to lift a long time ago, but don’t remember half of what I learned. Working out at home is also really convenient for me, and I’m currently on a huge budget, so anything that is free, I’m all up on that! I know some people just do not have enough discipline to work at home and have flat out told me that, or they have little children that would just get in the way. That’s totally understandable, but I’m not a huge gym person. Here’s a list of some at home workouts that I love!
I’ve talked about the 21 Day Fix so much over the past few years. I will say, this program got my ass into gear. I loved the workouts. The only thing I didn’t like too much is that you had to work out every day. You’re supposed to take breaks, and a “rest day” in the 21 day fix is something a little calmer like yoga, but it was still burning up a sweat. I do think you should be allowed one day where you just let your body reset. Other than that, I will always recommend the 21 Day Fix program. I’m just not a huge advocate of the MLM aspect of it.
This is such a great Youtube channel. I cannot give Adriene enough praise on this. And her dog Benji, because Zero has a crush on him. She’s his biggest fan and stares at him when he’s on the screen haha. Anyway, Adriene has a lot of good 30 day challenge type video playlists which are really great. I have increased my flexibility and my state of mind is much more relaxed. If you’re a super stressed out person, try one of Adriene’s programs (Dedicate is a really good one) and really put your heart into it, and I promise you will be a different version of yourself by the end of the program.
Ok, so Popsugar has a TON of videos on their Youtube, but I have a select few that I really love. I’ve been super into Tabata lately, so I’ve loved this video, this one, and this one. I seriously love all of these videos and Popsugar Fitness has SOOOOOOO MANY VIDEOS! There’s something for everyone in there. I promise, you’ll be able to find at least one video that you will enjoy.
In one of the above Tabata videos, the hip hop tabata, the trainer from there has her own Youtube. I love that it has a different style and I love that you can dance while working out. It just makes working out so much better. I mean, ladies, y’all get to twerk in your own living room, and get prepped for that night out you’ve been planning with your girls. You’ll be ready to step in the club after doing these workouts.
So, a lot of bloggers talk about this program, and while it is a great program, I’m not a huuugggge fan like some people out there. It’s definitely not a program for the weak. The leg day is NO JOKE! I couldn’t walk for two days after leg day with this program. I’ve seen some people get crazy results from this program, but I did not have the same results. Everyone is different, so just because I’m not a huge fan of this program, I’m mentioning it because it might be great for someone reading this.
Let me know if y’all try any of these workouts or if y’all have any other workouts that you’ve done at home that I can try!
xoxo Monica
