I have to make a confession, I didn’t really take the week off. I started coming up with really good ideas for blog content so I started writing and creating content. I did however take a week off from posting on Instagram. I did scroll a little bit though. During last week, I also had a family situation happen, and because my family is overseas, I had to use Facebook. There was information posted on Facebook publicly that I was not ok with. Because I tried to stop it, a war was started. So, let’s just say, there was A LOT of drama last week, which is why I’m happy I took a week off from worrying about my blog, because I would have just neglected it some more.
However, I think because I took time off, I had some clarity. I realized that even though I don’t want to stop blogging and sharing content with the world, it’s not as trivial as I’m making it out to be in my own head. You see, I’m a perfectionist when it comes to this blog. This has been my space for several years, and I think I just wanted it to be extra perfect. I mean this blog has made me blossom into quite the photographer, and it even helped me get noticed for jobs. Granted, the content that I post here is not for everyone. For example, my fiance doesn’t even read my blog, because fashion and anything health related does not interest him haha. He only reads the posts that I tell him about that are more of cornerstone content for my blog.
I will say, that after the years, blogging has become harder for me to do. My life has changed drastically this year. I’m also doing a lot more freelance work on the side as well. That’s why I’ve decided to take this blog in yet another direction. I don’t want this to be a chore for me. Fashion and beauty posts will not be predominant anymore on this blog. Those types of posts will still be here, but I want to have this blog go more in a direction of lifestyle. I’m tired, and don’t want to continuously worry about making sure I look perfect in fashion photos. Because I want to cater to a larger audience, I am going to have to add more lifestyle type topics. I even have some printables that I want to share with y’all! A few of them are already created, I just need to get them uploaded. I don’t want to compare myself to other bloggers/influencers anymore. I feel like that’s what caused me to kind of spiral out of control.
I’m not going to be as obsessed with having the perfect Instagram anymore. I’ll still going to schedule content, but I’m not going to be as crazy as I was before. How many likes a photo gets is not going to be important to me anymore. I know that this can hurt my chances at sponsorships, but that’s not why I started this blog, that was just a perk. I’m going to go back to the old ways and if no one likes it, that’s ok. At least I’ll be free from the craziness that has become social media. Especially because the Facebook situation I told you about earlier is still publicly there even though it was reported, but one of my memes (yes, a meme) got taken down because it was considered “fake news.” That to me is a little backwards, and I’m not going to stress over a platform(s) (because Facebook also owns Instagram) that operates in that kind of manner.
However, I will say, that today’s post is actually sponsored! The Llama necklace and bracelet that I’m wearing were both given to me for free to review here on the blog by Dave the Bunny. I had to choose to review the llama jewelry because I love llamas and alpacas. In my opinion, I think the jewelry is super cute and great quality. I love that it comes packaged in a little purple bag, because if you are giving this as a gift, it’s already in a bag!
Now, let’s move onto the linkup!
**Please note, I was given this necklace and bracelet for free, however all opinions are my own.

Looking forward to seeing where you take your blog! While I follow a lot of fashion bloggers, I love to read about travel and lifestyle too so I cannot wait! I am learning to write about what interest me and right now that is traveling and sharing how traveling is possible even on one income and with lots of kids!

Super cute dress and those tennis shoes so cute! I think we all grow and learn and changing directions is okay. What you loved last year isn’t necessarily the same as this year. I’ve taken a huge step bag from blogging as well, and I just wanted to spend time with my family and not always worry about sharing content everyday. Happy to see where your blog goes!

Welcome back! That’s awesome that you found clarity. Always a plus when taking a break. I am also glad that you were able to disconnect even if you did still work on other items for your blog. Any little bit helps! In my opinion, as a blogger whether we admit it or not, the work really does not stop regardless of how efficient you are in scheduling. There’s always something that needs to get done, some skill that needs to be polished, etc. Love that cute necklace btw! It’s adorable. Happy mid-week Monica!
