Black and Gold Color Combinations with my favorite Necklaces

If you’ve been following me from the beginning of this blog, you know that I’m obsessed with gold jewelry, especially if it’s gold and black.  I’m all about statement necklaces, and even though I’ve become a little simpler since our move here to Florida, I’m still a HUGE fan.  I noticed I’ve been geared towards a lot of dainty pieces lately too.  Guessing this means that I’m just experimenting.

Particularly, I love a black and gold combination when it comes to jewelry.  The reason being is, it’s so versatile.  You can dress these particular colors up or down.  On an everyday basis, I even gear more towards black clothing and gold accessories.  This might also be because I have quite a number of gold accessories.  I know that a lot of people prefer silver or white gold, but even the rings that I wear on a daily basis are yellow gold.  Prior to my fiance proposing to me, I told him that I didn’t want a white gold ring.  We had a conversation about the next steps of our relationship, we both knew we wanted to stay together forever.  Good thing I was happier with yellow gold, because his grandmother’s ring (which he proposed to me with) is yellow gold.

I’m not sure why I prefer yellow gold over anything else, but it might have something to do with my mom and Betsey Johnson.  Both of them have been my fashion icons/role models.  My mom has been molding me into a fashion loving gal since I was a baby.  Whereas Betsey Johnson inspired me to be bold and experiment with fashion.  I guess yellow gold just reminds me of being bold and different because in a world where so many women love silver accessories, I prefer the less popular stuff!

Anyway, I wanted to give some examples of how you can style dainty and bold gold necklaces.

The above is proof that even my mom loves a good old yellow gold and black combination.
