It’s time for the monthly Your Own Twist Linkup! This month our theme is cosplay/steampunk, and to be completely honest, I just did not have time to come up with something a little more creative. My go to whenever it’s time to dress up is anything “50s” related. This particular look is kind of like a modern day 50’s/Sandra Dee in Grease vibe. That’s what I was going for and I hope that’s what it came out looking like. Normally I take pictures outside, but it was raining every time I went to take a picture, and as I’m currently typing this post, we are possibly going to be hit by Hurricane Sally.
Today, I was supposed to be at work, and while I was on my way I had to turn around. I had my dogs with me because the power was cutting in and out this morning at our house, and they were upset at all of the noises outside that I decided they would come with me to our store. On top of that as well, god forbid there was some kind of flooding and my dogs would be trapped, I felt better having them safe with me. However, about halfway to the store, I had to pull over because the rain was that bad. Seeing out of my windshield was impossible. Once I called my fiance, he told me to turn around because he was concerned for our safety. If I’m being completely honest, I was more concerned about the safety of my dogs that I had with me in the car than my own self. Plus, people in Florida drive like idiots and I didn’t feel safe being pulled over even though I had my hazards on. They drive really slow when it’s sunny out, but stupid fast when it’s raining, it makes no sense to me. I think my fear also comes from being so used to snow, where if you pull over you’re most likely going to get hit because someone will slide into you. That’s something I’ve seen far too many times.
I’m hoping we don’t get hit by the hurricane, but if we do, I’ll probably keep updating on social media since that’s much easier than writing out a full blog post. However, enough about Hurricane Sally, let’s get onto the linkup!

I hope the situation didn’t get any worse. Ugh! I’ve been in torrential downpours when I lived in KS – tornado weather rather than hurricane weather. It’s scary stuff.
Take care, Monica!

Well, for not putting too much time into this outfit, you look damn good, my friend! I love the 50’s greaser vibe and those cute sneakers! I hope you all are safe and sound and that you don’t get hurricaned! And I had to laugh that you said people drive like idiots in Florida! I mean, come on now, Jersey Girl! You know what they say about Jersey drivers. Hahahahahaha Love ya!
