Your Own Twist Linkup: Maternity Dorothy from The Wizard of Oz Halloween Costume

It’s time for the monthly Your Own Twist Linkup and today I’m sharing my maternity Dorothy Halloween costume.  This is the fourth year that Shelbee On The Edge and I are creating Halloween outfits for the Your Own Twist Linkup.  Which means that this marks the anniversary of Your Own Twist!  We started the Your Own Twist linkup to have fun because we had remixed some of our outfits in the past, and then we came up with this idea for a linkup.

THE WIZARD OF OZ

I’ve been a huge fan of The Wizard of Oz since my childhood.  I remember the first time I watched The Wizard of Oz and I thought it was so magical.  Ever since then, I’ve been a huge fan.  My mom had to make a Dorothy dress for me that I wore all the time.  Then when we went to the store and I saw a pair of ruby red slippers my parents bought them for me.  They were scared I was going to break my ankle with how much I wore them so they did have to sneakily take them away from me.  Even with them taking away the ruby red slippers, I pretended that our German Shepherd was Toto.  Clearly, a German Shepherd is way too big to be a Toto.  He was such a trooper though because he just went along with it.  Any chance he had to be with me he loved it.

I really enjoyed dressing up with this maternity Dorothy Halloween costume.  It’s kind of like Dorothy meets maternity fashion.  I’m so happy that Shelbee On The Edge and I have been able to do this Halloween version of Your Own Twist for the 4th year in a row.  Time really flies because I feel like just yesterday I met her for the first time.  Just so y’all know, you don’t have to link a Halloween look if you don’t have one.  Anyone is welcome to join the linkup with any outfit!
