THANKSGIVING OUTFIT IDEAS
I cannot believe that it’s already time for Thanksgiving. This year is flying by like crazy. I’m pretty sure that’s due to the pregnancy and having a newborn now, in addition to buying a house. Thanksgiving is just another family dinner, and with us now having Scarlett, we have our tiny family of 5 (the extra two are our pups because they’re our family too). For those who do celebrate Thanksgiving and will be with their family, this look back on Thanksgiving outfits is for you. I have anything from casual to dressed up.
Also, if you’re going out on Black Friday, please be careful and stay safe because there are some truly terrible people who come out on Black Friday. I made two videos on my channel a few years ago (here and here) about retail horror stories, so be nice to those retail workers! Also, excuse the quality of those videos, they’re really old and I was still getting the hang of Youtube at the time. The next topic I wat to go over is something important, which is why I added it in this post, since my outfit posts perform better here on the blog.
WE WERE LIED TO ABOUT THANKSGIVING
Before I share my outfits I wanted to say something. Over the last few years I’ve learned more about the true history behind Thanksgiving, and how it wasn’t what we were taught in school. The story we were fed in school was a complete lie. There was a genocide of Indigenous people, and if you don’t know about this history, I highly recommend you look it up. All it takes is a quick Google search. I know that there are some that won’t celebrate Thanksgiving because of this, and I don’t see an issue with that whatsoever. I’ve read different opinions from Indigenous people in articles where some celebrate, others refuse.
For me, Thanksgiving was never about the story we were told in school. To be honest, I never really believed that story and thought it was just made up. Kind of like the Easter Bunny or the Tooth Fairy for example. Little did I know, there was a truly dark side to the lies we were fed. For me, Thanksgiving was always about spending time with my family and having an extra two days off from school. One thing I have done, is read about the Indigenous people and tribes that are either in the area that I reside in or called this their home at one point. This idea came from an article I read. If you want some great reading material on the true history I highly recommend this article, this one, and lastly this one. I hope y’all read at least one of those articles. Now moving on to the rest of the post.
