WE BOUGHT A HOUSE!
I’m so excited to finally announce that we bought a house! I’ve been wanting to share this for a while, but I had to keep it a secret with all of the inspections and things like that. We officially received the keys to the house the day before Scarlett decided to come into the world early. Of course, because of bebe, this post was put on the back burner. However, these photos were taken two days after we left the hospital. Let’s get into the house information because there’s an interesting story behind this.

I DIDN’T SEE THE HOUSE BEFORE WE BOUGHT IT
Believe it or not, I didn’t see the house before we bought it. The only photos I saw were from the listing online. My husband saw it in person because my brother in law (his brother) is a Real Estate Agent. Which means, he’s the one who took care of everything for us as well. Due to expecting the baby and still working at the shop at the time, I told my husband I trust his judgement and if he thinks it’s worth buying, to go ahead and do it.
So many people told us that we are going to hate the traffic going to this house because of the area that it’s in, but funny enough, it’s right at the border of the town so if we do hit traffic, it’s the beginning of it. However, at the time that my husband leaves for the shop in the morning and leaves to come home, the traffic has either not started or already ended.
I will say that once I saw the house in person I was blown away, in a good way. Since we bought it and officially received the keys the day before bebe was born, I wasn’t able to see it once right away. It wasn’t until a few days after that I saw it. We had gone to the pediatrician for the first time two days after we were discharged from the hospital, and my husband asked if I wanted to stop by the house and see it. Of course I said yes, and since bebe likes to sleep in the car, she was super calm and not fussy at all. Like I said, I was blown away by the house, by the size, and the land.
IT HAS A LOT OF POTENTIAL
Of course, like with most houses, especially first houses, this house needs a little bit of work. My husband worked in construction with his father for a good amount of time. That means, we will be doing most of the work ourselves. Since we have until February with our current lease, my husband is going to take care of a few things in the house before he moves the bebe and me into the house. He wants to update the lighting, paint, and put up a fence. Once that’s done we can move in. It’ll just be easier to do all of that work without having anything inside the house. We do have so many plans for this house and I cannot wait to take y’all on the journey with me. The before and afters will be shown here on the blog.

POSTPARTUM BODY
There’s no way to hide just how swollen, bloated, and tired I look in these photos. This was four days postpartum. Something I do want to share throughout this journey of motherhood and new life is my postpartum body. I’ve always been very open about my past, and shared a lot of workouts and diets that I’ve tried over the years. With that said, as much as seeing my body now really upsets me, I will be sharing it. I still haven’t gotten the ok from my doctor to go ahead and work out again, but I can’t wait.
Not to mention because I’m breastfeeding, I’m constantly starving. My sister in law said this happened to her while she was breastfeeding both of her children, but it’s no joke how hungry I am all the time. Since I’m no longer moving around the same as before, I have to watch what I eat and snack on, because eating a bag of candy corn in one sitting isn’t healthy, nor will it help in losing weight.

Congratulations, my friend! What an exciting time for you and your sweet little family! We bought our first house when I was pregnant with my first and I was so grateful that we were able to stay in our apartment for a few months so we could get the house all ready before moving in. It really does make a huge difference to be able to move in after it is all as you want it! I can’t wait to see more photos of your new home!
