Loungewear I’ve been living In & a Linkup

LOUNGEWEAR I’VE BEEN LIVING IN

Over the past few months I’ve been living in loungewear. I’m sure that’s to be expected given all of these life changes. I’m hoping to share some of my favorite pieces over the next few weeks. I wanted to do a post showing a loungewear haul, but because I’ve added so much to my collection, it’s going to have to be spread out. With moving it’s been a little challenging to do anything really.

#MOMLIFE

The reason why I wanted to spend a little extra doll hairs on loungewear is because I was starting to feel gross. As someone who took a lot of pride in my fashion pretty much my whole life, it was discouraging to look at myself in the mirror. One day I looked in the mirror and said, “wow, I really let myself go.” This isn’t to make anyone else feel bad either. I’m just writing about how I’ve felt. Especially because I see some moms on social media who aren’t wearing some nice loungewear and look more put together than me.

Anyway, as I was saying. Fashion was always kind of my “thing.” Growing up I always looked a bit different than people in school. I was wearing snake print faux leather bootcut pants in 8th grade because I wanted to look like Buffy the Vampire Slayer. While other people were wearing regular jeans and T-shirts. Senior year of high school I wore heels and was even nominated as most fashionable. Of course I didn’t win because the typical blonde popular girl who dressed in Abercrombie won. Then I went on to college and studied fashion as a minor. I was even one of the models in the senior fashion show.

When I first started blogging in 2010 (all of those posts are now archived) this was my creative outlet. It was a way for me to share something I loved a lot. I’ve watched my fashion change over the years. I’ve definitely become way more relaxed over the years with my fashion. However, now more than ever, my fashion is very relaxed. It’s easier to do anything with a baby when you’re in loungewear. I guess until Scarlett is older the one thing I’ll look for in clothes and shoes is “is it baby/toddler proof?”

Some may say I’m using this as an excuse to not dress myself up in heels and bodycon dresses, but it’s not that at all. I’ll get dressed up here and there but not as much as I used to. Even though I spend so much time at home, I decided to buy loungewear that was cute. Some of my new loungewear pieces even match.

THE MOVE

We are so close to being unpacked. There are some boxes left and because my in laws are in town we’re getting a lot of help from them. My mother in law has helped me organize like you would not believe. I’ve also gotten rid of a lot of stuff that needs to be donated or just thrown out in general.
While I was feeling really in the mood to organize, I ended up going through the baby’s clothes. Y’all, I almost cried. Scarlett used to be so small. I wasn’t able to part with some things so they’re going to stay in the drawer a little longer. She’s coming up on five months. It feels like just yesterday I was posting about her being four months old. While I want her to stay little, I love seeing her learn new things. Whether that’s examining her fingers, or just seeing new surroundings and reacting to them. I’m hoping this new house will be more peaceful for her and the dogs. So far that’s proving to be the case.

LET’S MOVE ONTO THE LINKUP

With all of that said, let’s move on to the linkup.

Thank you! I’ve been living in comfy clothes. It’s so weird from my regular wardrobe but that’s ok!

Super cute loungewear, my friend! I went full on loungey clothes when my kids were babies, too. There is no shame in that game! But you’ll switch back again when Scarlett gets a little older. Then you’ll probably switch a dozen more times as well! Your personal style will always evolve right along with you!

I usually dress up a little nicer if I’m dressing Scarlett up haha! I have to be able to match her vibe.
