Your Own Twist Linkup: Jewel Tones

JEWEL TONES

Ok, so I know my outfit isn’t exactly the normal jewel tones, but I thought it would work for this linkup. This pink dress is actually a maternity dress. I can see myself wearing this for a while because while it’s cut a little like a maternity dress, I can still get away with it once this baby weight is gone. Plus, pink is my favorite color so it has to stay in my closet haha!

YELLOWSTONE

While my in laws were visiting my father in law (who’s very obsessed with westerns) had us watching 1883 and Yellowstone.  First and foremost, I loved both of them. I highly recommend watching both. They’re different but yet the same. 1883 is based on the Oregon trail and the one family that made it to Montana ended up claiming a massive amount of land. 

However, as with most of history this wasn’t their land to claim because it was Native American land. This is a huge part of the show.  The land was passed down through 7 generations which is where we get to the show Yellowstone. John Dutton is a descendent and runs the ranch. The ranch, of course in present day, is trying to be taken by many people and the Tribal Chairman wants to take back the land that originally belonged to his people as he says in the show. It’s a great show and in my opinion gets better as the seasons go on. 

The reason why I’m telling y’all this is because thanks to the show, I’ve been on a “western” fashion kick. I’ve been wanting to wear my cowgirl boots for a few weeks, now that I have access to them. This show just made me want to wear them more.
