May the Fourth be with You & a Linkup

MAY THE FOURTH BE WITH YOU

It’s May the 4th, which means it’s Star Wars Day! If you’re not a Star Wars nerd like my husband and I, today might just be another day. What is kind of embarrassing for me to admit is I didn’t know about this day existing until around 2013/2014. At one of my previous corporate jobs, I had a friend who was also into Star Wars. On May fourth he sent me an email with a few Star Wars memes and I was a little confused at first. Then he explained it to me and it made more sense. Since then it’s been fun to celebrate the “holiday.”

MAY THE FOURTH WITH BÈBÈ

Last year I was pregnant with Scarlett on the fourth, and this year she’s celebrating with me! My husband and I have been calling her baby Yoda since the very beginning because she sounded and acted like baby Yoda. I mean, Grogu is a baby after all. Scarlett has so much baby Yoda apparel. Well, she has a lot of Star Wars apparel in general. I decided that because she is our baby Yoda, is dress her up on a little Grogu romper that says “The Child” on it, while I wore a Mandolorian T-shirt. Well, it’s Boba Fett to be exact, so it isn’t the exact idea I was going for, but close enough. I hope that when she’s old enough, she’ll enjoy Star Wars with us.

I’VE BEEN WORKING OUT MORE CONSISTENTLY

Over the past month I’ve been consistently working out. I even started pushing myself just a tiny bit harder after I got my Apple Watch. My husband got it for me to monitor my heart rate (epilepsy related stuff) and things like that but then we found out it has fall detection! This is PERFECT for me. Due to my epilepsy, I have been a little scared since finding out I was pregnant. Hormones always messed with my seizures so I was worried it would be even worse. However, when we found out the watch has fall detection we were so happy. Thanks to getting the watch I’m able to track my workouts and I’ve incorporated different types so I don’t get bored. I do have to be careful because of my diastasis recti, so I make sure it’s safe for that. I’ve only measured myself twice so far since really becoming consistent and I haven’t really changed in size, I actually gained weight but didn’t lose any inches (at least as of last time I checked) so I’m not sure that it’s because muscle weights more. What I will say though is I do feel better. I’m not as exhausted as I was before, thanks to those endorphins. I also noticed my body doesn’t ache like it did during and after pregnancy. Maybe I’m getting stronger? I’m not sure, but I feel better after moving around more.

WE ACTUALLY LEFT THE HOUSE!

If you know me personally, you know I’ve been struggling with my anxiety. It’s been very terrifying to even leave the house. When it’s time for check ups at the pediatrician, it not only takes a lot of every out of bèbè, but it also drains me. I have to mentally prepare myself. The scenarios that run rampant in my head are pretty bad. So, I asked my husband if for Mother’s Day we could go to the Converse store so I can get myself a new pair. He agreed so we went this past weekend because this coming weekend I want to go to the park. I’m addition my mother in law is arriving this weekend because my sister in law is due any day now with Scarlett’s new best friend! If my sister in law doesn’t have the baby during the week we’re planning on doing lunch. I’m going to force myself to bring Scarlett out in public for lunch. Wish me luck because this will be the first time!

Such a fun look to celebrate May Fourth with Bebe! I still get anxiety when I have to take the kids or myself to the doctor so you are not alone in that. But you are doing a great job getting through it and doing what needs to be done! Rock on, mama! May the Fourth be with you!
