MY FIRST TRY AT COTTAGECORE
This is officially my first try at cottagecore. My husband asked me if I was ready to churn some butter and I could not stop laughing. I can definitely see why he would think that. I’ve been wanting to take a shot at the whole cottagecore aesthetic, but I just didn’t have clothes to do it. However, my mom sent me a few things for Kid’s Day and this was one of them. Kid’s Day was June 1st and it’s something we’ve been celebrating since I was little. I celebrate with the pups and now with Scarlett. Well, anyway, it’s like my mom knew I wanted to test out the cottagecore style when she chose this as one of my gifts. So here’s my crack at cottagecore! Let me know how I did haha.

GOING OUT IN PUBLIC MORE
If you’ve been following along, you know that part of dealing with my postpartum anxiety has been taking little trips to stores. So far we’ve visited Target, Walmart (twice actually woot woot), and Bealls. TJMaxx is next on the agenda, but I keep putting that off because of how much farther it is. Also the traffic is a little more intense in that area. It’s so strange how before Scarlett, it wasn’t a huge deal, but now going to the store terrifies me. At least I’m making the effort to go out more though!

LET THE DECORATING COMMENCE
I’m going to be uploading home makeover content on my instagram, so make sure to follow along! I’ve already uploaded reels about bèbè’s room and our bedroom. I have more content to share but I’m currently shopping for my coffee bar. I’ve never had a coffee bar before. While I don’t have room for an entire stand alone coffee bar (at least not yet because we are planning on redoing the kitchen) I do have counter space. I’m so excited because all of this will make our house feel more like home.
SPOKE AT A VIRTUAL CONFERENCE THIS PAST WEEKEND
I spoke at a consumer protection virtual conference this past weekend. Because of my anti multi level marketing content on YouTube, I was asked to speak on the content creator panel. The main focus was how creators can help better educate and help in protecting people from the multi level marketing industry. To say I was super nervous is an understatement but I did it and was so honored to be a part of it!

Monica, this little dress looks so cute on you and I really like the strappy espadrilles with it. I like the cottage core aesthetic but I have not tried it out because most of the silhouettes are just not flattering on me. I am so proud of you for going out more and more. And how about speaking at that online conference! That is wicked cool and so exciting and I would have been nervous as hell also. You are an inspiration, my friend!

I have never heard of this style being referred to as “Cottagecore” before. Most people have been saying “Little House of the Prairie” look, but I’m sure I’ll hear it like crazy now. I really love this style. Congrats on the YouTube conference.
