UPDATED SKINCARE ROUTINE
It feels like just yesterday I was writing an updated skincare routine. However, that was a year ago already. I’m constantly trying new products but there are some that I swear by. Today I’ll be sharing my updated routine. I also recently purchased a mini fridge for my skincare and it’s been so refreshing. I know that it helps preserve your products, but applying cold skincare just feels so good. The fridge was worth every single penny. You’ll see some reoccurring products, along with some new ones. I also technically do a skincare routine three times a day now, but we’ll get into why.
Morning Skincare Routine Part 1
Hale & Hush Quiet Wash // Vichy Mineral Micellar Water // Neutrogena Sunscreen
MORNING ROUTINE PART 1 (PRE WALK AND WORKING OUT)
When I first wake up I just wash my face with Hale and Hush quiet wash. Followed by the Vichy mineral water. I put the mineral water on a cotton ball because it’s a no rinse product. Once that’s done I’ll apply sunscreen. I don’t do anything else because my daughter and I go on a 4 mile walk after breakfast. When we get back, I do my daily Every Mother workout. To say I get sweaty is an understatement. After my workout I take a shower followed by my second skincare routine of the day.

Morning Skincare Routine Part 2
Hale & Hush Quiet Wash // Vichy Mineral Micellar Water // Vichy Mineral 89 Eye Serum // Vichy Lift Activ B3 Serum // Ziaja Moisturizer (any of their moisturizers are great) // Lacura Anti Wrinkle Day Cream (Aldi)
MORNING ROUTINE PART 2 (AFTER WALK/WORKOUT AND SHOWER)
After my shower is when I do my real skincare routine. I wash my face with the same products from when I wake up. Instead of using the sunscreen, there are a few new steps. However, if I’m leaving the house I will wear sunscreen or I’ll use makeup with SPF in it. Once I cleanse my face I’ll use the Vichy Mineral 89 Eyes Serum. Then I’ll apply the Vichy Lift Activ B3 Serum.
Vichy’s B3 Serum is supposed to help with dark spots such as melasma. I started using this because while I was pregnant I developed a melasma mustache. I thought it would go away postpartum but it has not. Because of this I started researching what this dark mustache looking thing was on my face. That’s when I found out it’s melasma and can be caused by hormones. Which would make sense. I’m still breastfeeding, so I don’t know if those hormones are causing the mustache melasma to stay there. When I was younger, I did tan A LOT. Which is why I think this melasma might be a permanent thing, even after I stop breastfeeding. That’s why I wanted to try the B3 serum because I read it can possibly help with dark spots. When I was reading more about this serum it did say to avoid direct sunlight for a few days because using the product and being in the sun can cause the melasma/dark spots to get worse. That meant our daily walks were out of the question, but conveniently it was raining for those several days.
Once the B3 serum sets into my skin, I’ll moisturize with either Ziaja or Aldi’s moisturizer called Lacura. I also use Ziaja on my chest because I like the Ziaja consistency better for my body. So far so good with the Lacura moisturizers, but I think I’ll always be a loyal Ziaja consumer.

Victoria’s Secret Bombshell Perfume
JUST A NICE LITTLE SPRITZ
Since my husband took me on a nice shopping spree last weekend, he bought me the Victoria’s Secret Bombshell perfume. I could never justify buying it. However, even though I stay home, I’ll spray a nice little spritz of it. It kind of makes me feel a little more normal, or like my old self. I can’t justify putting on makeup while I’m at home, so a nice scent helps my mood. I know this isn’t skincare related, but it is routine related, so I figured I’d add it in here.

Night Time Skincare Routine
Hale & Hush Quiet Wash // Vichy Mineral Micellar Water // Vichy Mineral 89 Eye Serum // Vichy Lift Activ B3 Serum // Ziaja Moisturizer (any of their moisturizers are great) // Lacura Anti Wrinkle Night Cream (Aldi) // Aquaphor Ointment // Gua Sha tool & roller // Jojoba Oil
NIGHT TIME SKINCARE ROUTINE
Ok, so my night time skincare routine is a bit more complex. Just like the other routines, I use the Hale & Hush cleanser along with Vichy’s mineral water. I’ll use the Vichy eye serum followed by the B3 serum. Then, I use the anti wrinkle Lacura night cream. My gua sha routine is not an every night thing because I haven’t been able to be consistent with it (it depends on if Scarlett will let me haha). However, I usually do that after I cleanse my face. The Jojoba oil pictured above is the oil I use for my gua sha routine. If you’ve never heard of gua sha, this is something I want to write about in the future, but there is a lot of information about it online. I highly recommend testing it out!
The last part of my routine is using the Aquaphor healing ointment. Before Scarlett was born I was planning on getting a pedicure. Well, that was scheduled my first week of maternity leave, but she decided to make an early appearance. She was born the day before my appointment haha. After having her and not being able to take care of myself (I had a second degree tear so I was in A LOT of pain) I fell behind on taking care of my feet. Then one day I noticed cracked heels. It got really bad and really painful. Eventually I’ll get an actual pedicure, but in the mean time I’ve been using Aquaphor to prevent the cracking from getting worse. I did purchase a foot bath so I soak my feet as well, but I use Aquaphor every night, then sleep in special socks. Sleeping in socks is something I absolutely despise, but I read that sleeping with moisturizing socks with the Aquaphor helps even more.
STAY TUNED
I love trying new skincare products all the time. Make sure to stay tuned to see what products stick around and which ones I replace. Sometimes I even go back and forth because I like more than one thing and I’ll switch back and forth. Have you ever used any of these products? If so, what do you think?
