I’M BACK!
After a month plus a few days, I’m back! I’m so excited to be back because I have some great spooky season looks planned for this month. October is going to be a hectic month. We have bèbè’s birthday, my birthday, my husband’s birthday, our wedding anniversary, and of course, Halloween. To say October is my favorite month is an understatement. If you’ve been around for a bit you know this is my favorite month and Halloween is my favorite holiday. My husband and I even got married on Halloween. I’m really looking forward to Halloween this year because it’ll be bèbè’s first time being out trick or treating. Well, she won’t be trick or treating but we’re going with our nephews. I have an entire mommy and me Halloween look ready to go.

BEETLEJUICE, BEETLEJUICE, BEETLEJUICE
I decided to kick off spooky month with a Beetlejuice inspired look. This year I bought two wigs for Halloween looks but honestly, I love them to wear even after Halloween. Also I bought this skirt because I got an ad for Hot Topic on Facebook and yes, the ad actually worked this time. I hate Facebook ads but I’m glad I got the one for this skirt. It’s perfect for a Beetlejuice inspired look, but also cute to wear really any time of year. Although, this makes me want to watch Beetlejuice now. I’ve only watched one movie so far that’s within the theme of Halloween month and that’s Practical Magic. I know I might get some hate for this, but I think it’s better than Hocus Pocus. I’m not a huge Hocus Pocus fan. Practical Magic is the bees knees if you ask me.

MY SPOOKTOBER SERIES IS BACK
Since bèbè decided to make an earlier appearance last year I didn’t have enough time to get videos scheduled. Then by the time I made my first video the season was over. In addition I wasn’t very consistent over the last year. This month is different. I’m uploading two videos a week. Every Monday I’ll be uploading my Spooktober video of the week. I chose some interesting topics this year. Every Wednesday for my linkups I’ll be adding the two videos at the end of the post if you’re interested in watching.

LIFE UPDATE
If you don’t follow me on Instagram, you wouldn’t have seen my post about our house. Y’all, the last few weeks have been a total blur. To make a long story short, a pipe burst. In our house the pipes are under the concrete of the house. So we had to jack hammer through the floor and there was water in our dining room, entry way, and living room. There’s a lot of damage but I made it into a fun (and very terrible job on my part haha) photoshop project because I said the hole looks like a portal to the upside down. Needless to say, we have to completely redo the floors in the entire house, fix the hole and due to the pipe slowly leaking before it burst we need to get the foundation under the garage refilled. There is more but that’s the bulk of it.

BLOG UPDATE
You may or may not have noticed that when you type in jerseygirltexanheart.com it redirects you to a new domain name which is monicahayworth.com. Well, I decided to finally change my blog name! I wanted to keep it cohesive with my Youtube name and I feel like I outgrew my old name. There will be an entire post about this and kind of reintroducing myself in November. I’m super excited about it and I haven’t fully rebranded so to speak so it’s not official just yet.

BÈBÈ’S FIRST BIRTHDAY
We will be celebrating Scarlett’s first birthday this weekend. I cannot believe how fast a year went by. Someone told me the days are long but the years are short and boyyyyy were they right. This year flew by. We have our in laws in town for her birthday but we aren’t doing anything too extravagant. We wanted it to be just immediate family and we will be FaceTiming with my parents the entire time too since they can’t physically be here. When I ordered her birthday cake last week I cried when I got off the phone. When the heck did this baby grow up so fast?! I have loved watching her grow and become the wild child that she is. We’re definitely very lucky to have this amazing and beautiful baby in our lives.
I won’t be sharing too much about Scarlett’s milestones or anything like that because I want to keep that private, but I’m so proud of her. She’s accomplished so much and I can’t wait to see her grow even more and learn new things. She truly is a character.

BEING MOM SHAMED
Well, it finally happened. Even though I try and keep to myself when it comes to how I parent and I cover Scarlett’s face, somehow someone found a way to mom shame it. Ironically it was a comment on a YouTube video of me reacting to two MLM reps mom shaming. I won’t be repeating what they said but it was an instant block.
This same person also had an issue with me covering up my child’s face on social media a little while back and demanded to see what she looks like. Said person was a channel member at one point and even said they wanted to create content the same way I do it. Although as the months progressed her comments started to get worse. It started with her saying I looked so tired from my pregnancy, which I didn’t really get bothered by because I felt very tired. I wasn’t surprised if it was noticeable. However, when I took a break because I birthed a tiny human being that now depended on me to keep them alive, she left a comment saying she unsubscribed because I didn’t post often. Then it spiraled from there.
She has commented negatively on every creator that creates content in the same genre (predominantly anti scam/multi level marketing) as me on YouTube. A lot of other people actually blocked her a long time ago but because I knew her situation with living with a chronic illness I was more understanding. Also, she’s made that public information so I’m not outing her or anything. She made YouTube videos about it. The mom shaming was the last straw.

Ugh, I am so sorry that you were mom shamed. Shaming other people for anything is so ridiculous! I really enjoyed reading this post and your life updates. I love the new blog branding! It is very much you! I am loving his Beetlejuice inspired look, too, and had Beetlejuice in mind for our TB costumes! I might create a hybrid look incorporating a few different TB characters.

Uh, you got mom shamed for covering up your little bitty child’s face online?? What?? Wow, that’s not something I would have expected (though I guess unhappy people find a way to shame people on any excuse). Congrats and good luck with your re-brand!
