THIS IS 35
I cannot believe that I’m 35 years old. It’s weird to even think that. Just yesterday I remember dreading turning 30 and thinking that was the end of my youth. However, I think your 30s are the new 20s. In my personal experience, I didn’t have life figured out whatsoever until my late 20s, early 30s. Well, I still don’t have my life figured out because there are curveballs, but at least I feel like I’m on the right track. I definitely have life more figured out than my 20s. In today’s post I’ll be going over some things I’ve learned.

YOU CAN BE THE NICEST PERSON TO EVERYONE, BUT SOMEONE IS ALWAYS GOING TO HAVE SOMETHING TO SAY
This is something I have come to learn even moreso over the last few years. Being on Youtube has exposed me to the cesspool that is the internet. Don’t get me wrong, I have more support than criticism over there, and even some criticism is actually constructive. There are people who are just there to be rude and probably take out their frustrations on someone because they can hide behind a screen. I talked about being mom shamed just last week. On Monday, I had yet another person give me a hard time because I cover my daughter’s face on social media. This was said under a post about my daughter’s first birthday. The person has since deleted their comment, but it’s a perfect example of no matter what you do, even if it’s to protect your child, someone is going to have something to say. You just have to have thick skin. Listen to the constructive criticism and laugh at the trolls, or if it’s in real life, laugh at the ridiculousness.

THE DAYS ARE LONG, BUT THE YEARS ARE SHORT
This is something that someone told me when I first had my daughter, and I couldn’t agree more. We just celebrated my daughter’s first birthday and I can’t believe how fast it went. This doesn’t just pertain to babies and children though. It can also pertain to really anything in life. I mean, when did I turn 35, how did so much time already go by? To some of my audience, I know I may be younger than some of you, but man time flies.

NO IS A FULL SENTENCE
I’m just going to leave it at that. No is a full sentence.

HAVE A GOOD SKINCARE ROUTINE
I think I say this in almost every birthday post of mine, but it’s the truth. Having a good skincare routine not only helps preserve your skin, but it’s also great self care. I have fallen a little behind on my skincare routine, but I’ve been trying my best to keep up with it. Nowadays I’m usually doing everything one handed so washing my face has been a little difficult haha.

LOVING YOURSELF IS IMPORTANT
This is something I actually still struggle with, but it is a piece of advice I’d like to give out. After giving birth and having a new body, it’s been an even worse struggle. I look at pictures and just get even more discouraged. Which is a bit difficult because I do share outfits here. I’m still healing certain parts of my body. If you’ve been reading about my postpartum journey, there have been a couple of things I’m working on healing before I go all in again. Not to mention I’m also breastfeeding so I don’t want to put too much stress on my body and accidentally decrease my supply. However, I am trying my hardest to love this new body of mine.

MAKE SURE TO SAVE MONEY
I know that with our current climate, this doesn’t help, but if you are able to, save money. I got myself into $25,000 worth of credit card debt, along with having my student loan debt. In the last decade, I have paid off that $25k, I’ve saved money, and we recently bought a house. If it wasn’t for saving money, none of this would have been possible. I’m very grateful for being able to do this because I know there are people who are living paycheck to paycheck and have absolutely no way of saving money. Like I already said though, if you can, try and make the effort to do so.

DON’T JOIN AN MLM OR A PYRAMID SCHEME
I said this in last year’s birthday post too. My entire Youtube channel is dedicated to consumer protection and speaking out against MLM companies. In my opinion, they’re all scams, and a lot of them are walking a very fine line of being a pyramid scheme. I even have an entire category here on my blog dedicated to educating about MLMs.

Happy Happy Birthday, my beautiful friend! You look fabulous in this crazy cute outfit and this was such an inspiring post. I am almost 50 and still haven’t figured out life, but it really does get better with each passing year.
