Do you ever have those days where you just want to have a girl’s night in? Every once in a while I’ll have those nights and this time around I did that with my mom. I have this special bond with my mom. She is my best friend. She knows me better than myself and every once in a while we will meet up for coffee, or some adult beverages to just sit, hang out, and talk about anything. My mom has always been one of my biggest supporters, and she actually stays up until midnight to read every blog post I ever post. Sometimes if I don’t post for a day she will text me and ask me why there was no post. I would not trade her for the world. Ok, enough of the sappy portion of this post haha!
I know that when people think of tequila they immediately think of margaritas, so for today’s post I’m going to be talking about margaritas with a twist. It’s a super easy recipe, and really delicious. I don’t drink that much anymore now that I’m getting older, but every once in a while I like to have a good drink. The thing with drinking alcoholic beverages is they are usually loaded with sugar and high fructose corn syrup. Now that I’ve been living healthier this tends to affect me way more than it used to. That’s why I’m loving that Agavero Orange Liquer is made with agave nectar and natural orange flavor without added sugar. I mix this with Centenario Plata Tequila. I’m also going to be completely honest with you, once these bottles are done I’m definitely going to do a DIY and the Agavero Orange Liquer bottle will most likely become a vase. You can’t see it that well in the pictures but the bottle is this pretty bluish/greenish color. I’m really weird and look at the packaging too, and I prefer glass bottles over plastic when it comes to alcohol. It just presents itself better and if you want to have people over (I’ll be saving some of this for a party coming up) it just looks prettier for lack of a better word haha.
Now, let’s move on to the easiest recipe of all time. If you want you can put salt on the rim, but I personally didn’t want to do that so mom and I took the easy way out!
Ingredients
Tonic
1.5 oz Centenario Plata Tequila
3/4 oz Lime Juice (I did a little less)
Lemon/Lime wedges
Directions
Mix all of the above together with ice cubes
*Please drink responsibly
