Ok so the title of my post is from a song called Chicken Fried by The Zac Brown Band. It’s my Friday song. I think we all have that song that reminds us of the end of the week where we can just sit back and relax, or go out whatever you prefer. This song is my sit back, relax, and open up a cold one type song!
So the song goes a little bit like this:
A little bit of chicken fried.
A cold beer on a Friday night.
A pair of jeans that fit just right.
And the radio on.
There’s also another part that is very fitting since this week was the anniversary of 9/11. I will dedicate this part of the song to the people who fought and are still fighting against the war on terror because of that tragedy:
I thank God for my life.
And for the stars and stripes.
May freedom forever fly, let it ring.
Salute the ones who died.
The ones that give their lives.
So we don’t have to sacrifice
All the things we love.
As much as I am Polish, and I will always be proud of my roots, I am also proud to be American. That’s the cool part about being both nationalities. I’m Polish by blood and background and American by citizenship and birth. I’m proud of both, and this week when 9/11 rolled around I couldn’t have been more proud of America and how we have lifted up our spirits and come together. Land of the free because of the brave.
Well let’s move on to my outfit of the day.
I went a little darker on the hues today. I don’t know why I did, but I felt like it. Oh and last night was crazy with the storm we had here in NJ. We had trees down and leaves everywhere (hence the leaves on my deck). A branch almost hit my car while driving, there were a few roads blocked too. It was pretty intense. Not like Hurricane Sandy, but it was a little scary.
Also, I’m saying a prayer for Seaside, NJ for the fire from yesterday. Not too long ago they rebuilt the boardwalk after Hurricane Sandy and now it caught on fire. Seaside, you’re in my prayers!
