I remember the days when I would go back to school and think it’s a fresh start, a new year, a new me, and the best part new clothes! I saw a bus this morning and I thought, wow I remember those days and I miss it. Every year I would say I’m going to study a lot and do my homework really early. Well mid September I was already procrastinating haha. I work better under pressure is what I kept telling myself. Nowadays I try to do as much as I can before the deadline. At work we have a lot of last minute things pop up and because of that I make sure all of my timely tasks are done early.
Today, after I saw the lovely yellow school bus drive up the street to what used to be my bus stop for all my years at school; I walked past my brother’s room and saw a book. It was The Great Gatsby, which I’m sure everyone (not including myself, still have yet to do that) has seen the movie. I remember having to read this book as a sophomore for my first day Summer Reading Book Report. Does anyone else remember those? I decided that I’m going to ask him if I can borrow it and read it. I never usually have time to read because of working full time then blogging at night and on weekends, but I’m going to try to read it again. That will be my goal for my first semester (do you see what I did there, I’m so clever).
Since I’m walking down memory lane of my first days of school where summer is over and it’s time to hit the books and play my sports I want to show you what would be my ideal back to school look.
Blazer: The Gap {old}
Necklace: Francesca’s Collections {old}
Tank Top: Ralph Lauren {here}
Skirt: I made it
Shoes: Restricted {Marshalls}
Bag: Vince Camuto {Saks}
I also thought I should share one of my favorite back to school songs, which of course had no impact on my studies whatsoever because I have my MBA but the lyrics go something like this:
“We don’t need no education.
We don’t need no thought control.
No dark sarcasm in the classroom.
Teachers leave them kids alone.
Hey Teacher leave them kids alone.
All in all it’s just another brick in the wall.
All in all, you’re just another brick in the wall.”
I’m pretty sure my Dad would get a kick out of the fact that I posted Pink Floyd on my blog. To all of my readers that are in school, I envy you and would love to be back in school. Make the most of it; your school will pay off in the end. At least it did for me, it took me a while because of the job market but it paid off. I will give you one word to remember when you finally start looking for internships and jobs; networking. I can’t stress enough how important this is.

Best look cute if hitting the books, and that's what you did here. Sweet outfit! I love the whole outfit and all of its individual elements equally.
