Skirt: Cavender’s (old) // Tanks: Ewa Bazaar // Shoes: UGG (old, Marshalls)
First I’d like to say that it’s been almost a year since I
started this healthy lifestyle of mine!
Stay tuned because I have a nice little surprise next week to
celebrate! The skirt in this post is
extremely symbolic to me. It was this
skirt that made me feel like I was the ugliest person on earth. I bought this skirt when I gained weight
thinking that it would be a great way to hide my weight gain. I bought the largest size they had available
thinking it would fit perfectly. Well,
it didn’t. It was extremely tight. When I put it on I felt terrible. I thought maybe I could make this work, but I
honestly couldn’t. It was too tight and
the poofiness of it made me look bigger than I actually was (which I didn’t
think was possible given I was close to 200lbs). It was this skirt that made me see how big I
actually got. When I put this skirt on
for the first time in a year I was pleasantly surprised at how much bigger it
was and how it didn’t look good even with the weight loss haha. I’m going to be honest, I’m not quite sure
what I was thinking with this skirt. It’s
just not flattering for my shape/size.
However, it’s nice to put it on and see how much weight I ACTUALLY lost.

This is why I say that the scale isn’t always the best way
to measure your weight loss. I actually
weighed myself and I weigh more, yet again.
I’m convinced it’s muscle weight because I’m not doing anything
differently besides working out, because I’m now working out twice a day. I have 42 days until I leave for Poland and I
want abs by then so I’ve been working extra hard. I think I’m going to have to eliminate cheat
days until then. We will see if I will
be able to do that because last weekend was quite the indulging weekend haha,
and we still have 4th of July so I know I’ll be indulging some more.

Always make sure during your weight loss that you are taking
progress pictures. Thankfully for me I
have a blog so I kind of have an abundance of photos, even though I wish I had
more photos of me at my heaviest so that I had more to compare to. When I look at old photos like this from a
year ago I’m reminded of how far I’ve come (and my photos were extremely edited
from this time period). This is the
feeling I want others to experience and this is why I say make sure you take
pictures of your progress. I know it’s
hard to see yourself at a larger size than you’re used to, but trust me, having
those pictures to compare is amazing.
