If you know me personally, you know that I have entirely too many shoes haha. I never thought I would admit that to myself, but it’s true. My shoe collection is so big that I have a trunk in the living room that’s filled with shoes, my closet is filled, I have shoes all over the apartment in nice straight lines, and I have a ton in storage unit in our garage. The problem is, I keep buying more. I also have different types of shoes, it’s not that I just like one type of shoe (although, converse are my go to and I could live in those) I have ALL types of shoes. I don’t discriminate over here hahahaha.
In today’s post, I wanted to talk about my favorite spring/summer shoes, and just a few of my newest favorites.
Converse
As I mentioned above, I could live in Converse, specifically Chuck Taylor’s. I’ve been wearing these since high school, and I will always have a soft spot for them. It may be because it’s nostalgia, and I just remember all the concerts my little emo/punk rock self went to, but they are comfy to me. I wouldn’t recommend them if you’re walking around a lot (sight seeing sort of deal) and have knee problems like myself, BUT, if you are just walking a little bit you’ll be just fine. They are flat and have no arch so obviously don’t wear them if you need some extra support. I personally prefer high top converse, however I have all different kinds. I have regular ones, and then I also have studded ones, metallic, and hot pink. I will say though, I love the more obnoxious converse. I also took my driver’s test in a manual car with converse, so I will always have a soft spot for them. They are my go to driving shoes.
Flats
I’m 5’9 and my fiance is the same height as me, so I don’t usually wear heels too often. That’s why I love that flats became a trend a long time ago because as a tall girl, sometimes I really don’t want the extra height. I have a lot of flats but lately I’ve been living in Old Navy flats and my espiradilles. They are PERFECT for spring and summer, however I highly suggest only wearing them when it’s dry out haha. I had a bad experience a few years ago.
Lace Up
I am loving the lace up bootie trend, or any lace up sandals for that matter. My style is a little bipolar so I love to go a little girly every once in a while and wear these types of shoes. I have to keep them on their toes, ya know?
Sneakers
I AM SO HAPPY SNEAKERS ARE TRENDY! I really couldn’t be happier with this athleisure trend. I know that a lot of people don’t consider it a trend, and they think it’s so dumb, but y’all aren’t living until you wear a super cute outfit and put on a super comfy pair of sneakers (like the Adidas cloud foam sneakers) and just go have a good time. Call me lazy, or not fashionable, but I seriously love a good pair of sneakers. I’d probably pick them over heels. Please don’t get the fashion gods to come after me haha.
Cowgirl Boots
This blog was built on my love for all things Texas and it was a way for me to stay creative and share my stories. When I came back from Texas, I was not in a good spot mentally or physically. My dog Lilly (the Puggle) and a pair of cowgirl boots were my two most important souvenirs from Texas. That first pair of cowgirl boots are the perfect fit! I broke them in soooooo good, that they fit my foot perfectly. Since then I’ve gotten 10ish more pairs of cowgirl boots and I love styling them with outfits that they really shouldn’t be paired with.
Doc Marten’s
Ok, I know I’m super late to the Doc Marten game but I always wanted a pair when I was younger, but never thought I could pull them off. I now have two pairs and am thinking about getting my third. I really want that deep red color. I know that these shoes aren’t really meant for spring or summer, however, if you’re a person who doesn’t mind, these boots are perfection! You just have to break them in because they’re super stiff when you first get them.
Heels
I don’t wear heels often, however I’ve noticed that I like kitten heels so much more. It’s not because they only add a few inches, rather than several but my feet don’t hurt in them. I actually feel like I’m wearing flats, unless I’m walking around for an insane amount of time. I do have a love for bright heels and leopard print but I’ve been loving my black kitten heels from Old Navy too.
What are your favorite spring/summer shoes?
xoxo Monica

I love all shoes too! I have a closet and a bin of shoes. My husband doesn’t understand it, but I’m like they’re all different and I love them!
