If you read last week’s blog post about us moving, this means that I’ll be looking for a new job! I’m really excited because so far my job hunt is going great! My current job kind of surprised me and stated that it seems like I won’t be working remotely as long as they had originally asked me, so now I’m job hunting like it’s nobody’s business. I was planning on job hunting as soon as we arrived at our new residence, BUT, this kind of set me back a bit and while packing, I had to apply. That’s one thing that I’m not very happy about, but at least they let me know a little bit ahead of time. I wish I would’ve known sooner, because I would’ve started applying earlier. So far, I have one interview lined up, so please keep your fingers crossed for me!
Since we have a container that we are filling here in NJ, it will be delivered to our new place, BUT it will take 10 days. With that being said, I need to take some work/interview clothes with me. If y’all know me, y’all know I love a little bit of flair and I like to spice things up a bit. I can’t do the typical black pants, white dress shirt, and black blazer. I just can’t. I have to have color and patterns. I feel like the industries that I’ve worked in have just been so boring that I have to spice it up. I mean petrochemical, and power supplies are kind of boring in my opinion haha. Especially because I work behind a desk, so I’m not involved with any of the hands on stuff.
I feel like I would be great at a marketing firm. That interests me, because I’m so full of ideas and ways to improve. Plus, it’s more fast paced, which is what I’m used to, being from the northeast. It’s really funny, but I can cross the border and go into PA and not be able to get used to how much slower they are over there. I’m sure there’s some cities in PA that are more fast paced, but it’s such a difference. I feel like that gives me an advantage, no matter what state I go to because everyone knows how fast we are here. There’s no room for error, and there’s no room for being slow, because here in the NE, that’s not efficient. I’m glad that I was able to grow up in such an environment because, in my opinion, it’s made me more efficient in the workplace.
This outfit is something that I would definitely wear to the workplace, but depending on what kind of company it is, I might have to swap out the top. That might be a little much for some companies, especially if they are a little more conservative with their dress code. However, I will say that, this outfit just screams my name haha.
xoxo Monica

You look fabulous, my friend! And you will definitely be a dream for any employer! You’ve got this. As a girl who moved from NJ/NYC to the much slower paced environment of northern NY state, I have to say that after enough time, you will slow down, too! But I kind of like the slower pace these days. Much less stress…and I still move at a much higher pace than most!
