Romper: Forever Laine & Co
It’s my 7 year Blogiversary, what?!
Ok, before I start talking about my blog turning 7 (holy moly), I wanted to say a special thank you to Forever Laine & Co for this adorable romper. The woman behind this company was a subscriber of mine, who one day reached out to me because she knew I was a small business owner and just kind of picked my brain. I think she just needed someone to tell her to just go for it. Everything was already set up for her business, she just had to sign on that dotted line and make it official. Well, SHE DID! This romper is from her company. I absolutely love this romper, the quality is amazing, and this tall gal can say it covers her butt! Forever Laine & Co also sent me another jumpsuit which I will debut next week, but I felt like this was the perfect piece to wear to celebrate my 7 year blogiversary. Especially because I can’t really celebrate with balloons or anything, because of COVID-19.
Thank you so much for all of your support!
I remember when I started this blog originally in 2010 and only blogged for a few months. I did it as a creative outlet, and then because of a relationship that I was in, I stopped. He wasn’t very supportive of my blog obviously. Fast forward to 2013. While at work, one of my coworkers kept sending me links to bloggers she likes to read. Then I told her that I had a blog once and just never got back into it. She had asked for the link to it, and she started reading it. If it wasn’t for what she said next, I would have never rebooted this blog. She told me that I needed to start blogging again.
And here we are 7 years later.
After 7 years, I’ve made this little area of interwebs my own. I’ve done so many incredible things that I would have never thought I would have done before.
- I went to blogging conferences where I didn’t know anyone. If you’re an introvert you KNOW why this is a big deal.
- Myspace HTML helped me with my blog.
- I’ve migrated my blog from Blogger to WordPress Self Hosted.
- My photography skills have improved.
- Some of the most amazing people in my life right now, that are actually my very close friends, I met through blogging.
- Working with so many different brands, both small and big, has been a wild ride.
- I’ve learned more than I need to know about social media marketing, algorithms that are constantly changing, and analytics.
- Editing has come a very long way haha, along with photo quality. At least I would hope so. There have been a few times here and there where quality was slightly off, but for the most part I think I’ve grown in that arena.
- Other bloggers have come to me and asked for tips and tricks, which it honestly feels so nice to help someone. I can’t say what I tell them is 100% right, because I’m all self taught, but those self taught skills and massive amount of research has gotten me a long way.
A lot has changed
This past year was pretty slow for my blog, and sponsorships were less than previous years, but that’s my own fault. With our move to Florida, my blog took a little bit of a backseat. I shared quite a bit of our move and the struggles I had to go through over this past year. When I think about the past 7 years and what I’ve shared with all of you, it’s crazy to think just how much I’ve changed. I rebooted my blog when I was 25, and now I’m 32. That’s so crazy to think about what has changed in 7 years.
Anyway, before I start rambling for too long, let’s end it here. I’m so thankful for all of you who have supported my venture in the blogging world for the past 7 years. It’s so surreal to think that I’ve kept up with this for this long. Thank you so much to all of you!
**Please note, I was sent this romper as a gift, however all opinions are my own.
