Well, 2020 is coming to a close. I’m sure most people can agree with me, that we’re all ready for 2021. Since this has been a trend here on my blog, I wanted to take a look back at my Goodbye 2019 post and see where I’ve come since. Also, how cute are those ruby red slippers?
My Health
This year I lost a lot of weight, mostly for our wedding and because I had started feeling really lethargic and just unhealthy. As much as I love snacks, my body tells me when enough is enough and I need to watch myself. I have been seizure free for 3 years as of November, and I’m still doing really well on my generic medication.
Save for a House
We are still saving for our house. We were hoping to be in a new house in 2021 and not having to renew the lease on our rental. Unfortunately, due to the wedding, we had to put that on hold. I’m crossing my fingers that my “Goodbye 2021” post will include us having bought a house.
Save for the Wedding
Well, we did save for the wedding and we got married!
Less time blogging and more time with family/friends
I did less blogging, but it wasn’t to spend more time with family (because our friends here in Florida are our family lol). I spent more of my time and focus on Youtube. My channel has grown quite a bit this year, and thanks to my ad sense along with channel members and patrons, I upgraded my equipment. It’ll be a learning curve, but I’ll be testing out all of my new equipment over the next month.
New Year Goals for 2020
- Grow my channel to at least 10k subscribers: Well, unfortunately, I won’t hit this goal this year, but I’m hoping to hit it in 2021. At the time of writing this I’m up to 7.4k subscribers. I was so close to hitting 10k, but that’s ok!
- Keep our wedding budget under $5k: We almost stuck to this budget. It was just a little over $5k.
- Get healthy for the wedding and stick to a healthy lifestyle: I stuck to this one! I lost a lot of weight and started eating healthy again. I’m going to try and keep it that way too.
- Stick to an ACTUAL skincare routine. Those lines on my forehead aren’t going anywhere, but I can prevent more from forming.: 2020 was the year that I stuck to a skincare routine. It wasn’t until a few months into 2020 that I found products I love and have been very consistent since.
- Convince my parents to move to Florida haha!: I’m still working on this, but we are getting closer and closer to them agreeing.
New Year Goals for 2021
- Grow my channel to 10k subscribers. I’ll feel a little more official once I hit 10k. I know it’s a small number of subscribers to those who have hundreds of thousands if not millions of subscribers, but to have 10,000 people interested in what I have to say is just mind blowing to me.
- Try and get back on track with this blog. I truly want to get back to writing more because I enjoy that so much. I’ve been terrible with time management and I experienced burn out quite a number of times this year. Which brings me to my next goal.
- Learn how to take a break. I have this issue of wanting to constantly create content because I love doing it. However, I do need to realize when it’s time to take some time off. Because of this, I’m going to start working on a schedule and get better with my time management.
- Buy a house. I would love to be able to buy our house this year. I’m not sure if it will happen, but it’s a goal for sure.
Now, let’s move on to the linkup and let me know in the comments if you have any goals for 2021!

Monica, you look amazing, my friend! I love all your sparkles especially those gorgeous red shoes! You should be super proud of all that you have accomplished in 2020! I cannot say as much. But I have definitely learned the art of relaxing and enjoying down time this year! Wishing you all the best in 2021, my friend.
