POLKA DOT OUTFIT
I have always loved polka dots on really anything. I think it’s because polka dots remind me of my favorite fashion era which is the 50’s/60’s. Anything pin up related is my jam! It might also be because polka dots remind me of my childhood. When I was younger, I used to travel with my parents, A LOT. Ever since I was barely a year old, I was the perfect road trip baby. However, I obviously don’t remember being a baby, but I do remember when I was really little, and we went to Key West. My mom had this hot pink bathing suit with black polka dots on it. Not only that, but when we stopped at a grocery store to get some food, they had Barbie clothes and my parents bought me this hot pink mini skirt with black polka dots for my Barbie. I wonder if that’s where my love for the color combination of hot pink and black came from. I mean that would make sense because it’s something I remember very vividly from my childhood.
My mother in law calls polka dots, polka spots. Several years ago when I used to do my own nail art, my mother in law had asked me if I could paint polka spots on her glasses. She still has those frames to this day. Whenever we talk about anything that has to do with the polka dot pattern, we always call it polka spots.
I do love this polka dot outfit though because I thought the skirt complimented the polka dot top very well.

IT’S STILL SUPER HOT
I’m so ready for all things fall, but it’ll be hot here in Florida for a while longer. Which means y’all will be seeing a lot of summer outfits still being put out here on the blog. With it being so hot, it’s been getting a little more difficult to make it through the days with how pregnant I currently am. I’m still physically working at the shop, so the heat has been getting to me. I do take breaks though, but these hormones are no joke and sometimes it gets hard to cool down. Which is when I stand in front of the AC haha!

LIFE UPDATES
Well, we had a longer weekend this past weekend because we closed the shop on Labor Day. Because of that, we got a lot done. As I’ve said numerous times, I’ll be working from home soon and my Youtube studio is turning into the nursery. That means that I need to move myself elsewhere, which is the bedroom. There are still boxes in our bedroom that have been there since we moved in that I never fully unpacked. However, the items in these boxes have been used because I did open them, I just never organized them. The reason why, is because we didn’t plan on being in this house for so long, and I just never got around to unpacking my stuff. Not to mention, I have a lot of paperwork from a few years that I can go ahead and shred that has been kept in the bedroom. However, my husband bought me an entire setup for the bedroom along with storage boxes (I’ll share once it’s all done), so that’s what we worked on this past weekend.
In addition I did a lot of shopping recently for bebe, so the nursery is starting to get filled up with a lot of bebe stuff. Once we are able to set up my little office space in the bedroom we’ll be able to bring in all of the nursery furniture and I can start organizing everything.
