MATERNITY DRESS TURNED POSTPARTUM DRESS
There were quite a number of maternity dresses that I bought so that I can use them as postpartum dresses. My thought process behind this was I didn’t want to purchase an entire new wardrobe to only wear it during pregnancy. Don’t get me wrong, there are some things I bought that I won’t ever wear again. However, this dress was a maternity dress turned postpartum dress.

MY NEW MOM BOD
I know I’ve been sounding super dramatic lately with what I’ve been saying about my postpartum body. It’s now being called my mom bod. Until I feel more comfortable, I’ll probably be wearing a lot of my maternity clothes. Even though I’ve lost 20lbs since Scarlett was born, I’ve come to a stand still recently. With that said, I do have a little bit of a kangaroo pooch happening. I’m trying to embrace this new body, and my husband is the best when it comes to my insecurities. He keeps reminding me that I just gave birth to our daughter and I need to stop being so hard on myself. Even if I do lose the remainder of the weight that I want to lose, I do have stretch marks. Those may go away with time, or they may be permanent. Surprisingly, when it comes to the stretch marks, I’m more comfortable with those sticking around. I’m not sure why, but I could live with those.

THE PERFECT THANKSGIVING LOOK
This dress is the perfect dress for Thanksgiving. Whether you’re pregnant, postpartum, or not pregnant whatsoever. It’s the perfect color, and it’s loose fitting so if you eat a little extra, there’s no button to unbutton at the dinner table. I paired it with this faux leather jacket that I pretty much live in during this time of year, and my new Kassie boots from Betsey Johnson. Those boots were bought while I was pregnant and I was super swollen so I didn’t try the shoes on until after I gave birth. The time that these photos were taken, I was still a little swollen, but they fit! These boots are obviously better for colder weather, but it gets cold enough to wear boots here in my part of Florida.

I STILL CAN’T BELIEVE THIS IS MY BACKYARD
If you read my post about us buying a house (here) you may have seen the photo that was of the lake, well that was taken from this dock. I still cannot believe that we’re homeowners. My husband has started working on the house, so in due time I’ll be sharing before and afters here. All that he has done so far is lighting, and already it’s made a huge difference. It looks like a completely different house. The house just looks more open and inviting. Previously, the lighting was very dungeon like. Whereas now it’s completely different.

LET’S MOVE ON TO THE LINKUP
Alright y’all, super short post today, but I wanted to get the linkup up for y’all. I’m currently writing this post while my husband watches the baby. He’s been so great with helping me out while I continue to be able to create content. It’s been very challenging to do with Youtube, but I’m hoping to get back to that soon. Creating content for my blog and social media is much easier because I don’t have to record anything. Having a newborn has been a bit challenging to get on camera. Anyway, happy Wednesday!

You look so fabulous, my friend! And what a gorgeous back yard view! I love this cute little dress on you and it was so nice to see your sweet mama there with you! Keep your attitude exactly as it is and you will get through all the weird body shifts and changes, I promise! I just hit my pre-baby weight and I last gave birth in 2013…so yes, do be patient with yourself and know that even if the scale gets where you want it, your body will not be the same ever again. It freaking grew and gave life, my friend. That is a very big deal!!! Love you!

this dress is beautiful on you, such a great colour and I like how you layered it for cooler weather 🙂
Don’t stress about the body changes – it takes 9 months to change and grow a baby, it will take a while before everything settles back down again, there is no rush! 🙂 Plus it means we get to enjoy the comfortable maternity clothes a little longer and focus on getting good value from them still, haha! 🙂 I was sad when I had to pack away my maternity jeans in the end!
Thanks for the link up!
Hope that your week is going well 🙂
