RAIN, RAIN, GO AWAY
Another week has come and gone. For most of last week it rained. If you follow me on Instagram you would’ve seen my Instastory about how when it rains at our new home it reminds me of that movie The Last House on the Left. Have any of y’all ever seen it? Well because it was raining, Scarlett and I couldn’t go on any walks for most of the week. Then the one day we had a really bad storm where the power went out and the dogs were upset. It didn’t phase Scarlett though. She slept through most of it. Even though we didn’t go on walks, I did make it a point to work out every day.

WORKING OUT
Last week was the first week that I worked out in a long time. I was cleared to work out at my 6 week checkup but I didn’t do anything more than walking since I didn’t feel like I was fully healed. While I worked out over this past week I pushed myself really hard and I thought I was just sore. However, I wasn’t just sore, I felt a little bit of pain/pressure especially in my abdomen and pelvic area.
I didn’t think anything of it and thought I just haven’t worked out in a bit and since working out I’ve pushed out a little human. Then I randomly had a conversation with a friend who had her baby about a month after me. She talked about her diastasis recti. Once she told me that her doctor never even checked for that and she explained how she found out I started looking into it.

DIASTASIS RECTI
The following morning I decided to do the exercise to be able to self examine. Sure enough, I definitely have it. Now all of the other issues I’ve been having make sense. That’s when I decided that I needed to find a way to heal it. If you don’t know what diastasis recti is, in simpler terms it’s an ab separation. This usually happens with pregnant women, but it’s not just pregnant women.
I’m hoping the workouts to heal it will help. For now I’m going to take it a little easier when it comes to working out. What I will say is I found some awesome mommy and me workouts and Scarlett has been loving them!
I did take before pictures and measurements this past Sunday. My ultimate goal is to be able to keep up with Scarlett. But if I can get myself back to feeling confident, that’s an added bonus. I did write about this in an Instagram post the other day.

THREE YEAR FLORIDA ANNIVERSARY
I completely forgot to write about our three year anniversary here in Florida which passed almost two months ago. Maybe I’ll still write it but I look back at 2019 to now. Technically the move started in 2018 when my husband (then fiancé) moved to Florida first to set us up and then came back for the pups and I. We ended up opening up the CBD store, then just a few months later we stumbled upon a new business; our auto shop. We kept the CBD store open until the end of 2020. In 2020 we also got married! Then in 2021 I ended up working at the shop and not even two months into working there, I found out I was pregnant. Scarlett arrived in October of 2021 and we bought our house in October of 2021.
To think of where we came from to what we’ve achieved and how lucky we are to have what we have is just amazing. Now we’re married with a daughter and a house that has the perfect yard for the dogs. We have our business that has allowed me to be able to stay home with Scarlett. I’m still working from home but Scarlett is always with me. Even during nap time when I have the baby monitor she’s still kind of with me haha. There are pros and cons to living here in Florida but we would’ve never have what we currently have if we didn’t move. I don’t regret a second of it.

LET’S MOVE ON TO THE LINKUP!
Now, let’s move on to the linkup! P.S. my blog turns nine years old next month and I just realized it as I was typing this. That’s just mind blowing!

Monica, I love this post! And these photos and this outfit! I am definitely going to style my red cowboy boos with a black maxi dress at some point! So cute! I am glad that you figured out the diastasis recti and can start taking the steps needed to heal. I have known women who have had that and I know it can be frustrating. I am sending you all the good vibes to get where you wanna be! But it looks like you’re in a really great place right now anyway. That makes my heart happy!
