Top: TJ Maxx (similar here and here) // Capris: TJ Maxx (pink pants here, here, and here) // Sneakers: Nike (Sports Authority, similar here)
I don’t know what it is about workout clothes, but they just
have to be fun. At least for me. They
have to be fun colors. Since I’ve
been doing kickboxing I tend to prefer the capri pants and regular long
pants. There are certain moves that we
do on the ground and it slightly hurts the skin on my knee, so wearing pants is
a must for me. Plus, when I’m working
out the last thing I want to think about is ugh my body is eating my shorts,
AGAIN! AKA I get wedgies or my shorts
ride up. So skin tight capris it is!

I recently went on a shopping spree for workout clothes (stay
tuned because within the next few weeks I’ll be doing a special on workout
clothing and how I lost weight). I
couldn’t help but get all of the fun patterns and colors. These hot pink pants were one of those “I
couldn’t help myself” moments. I’ve
gotten all of my workout clothing from TJ Maxx/Marshalls. Y’all, workout clothing gets expensive and as
much as I want to jump on the LuLu wagon, my wallet/bank account say
otherwise. I just can’t justify spending
that kind of money on something I know I can get for less, even if it isn’t the
same name brand. I tend to love
activewear from Marshalls and TJ Maxx, whether it’s brand names like Underarmour,
Nike, Puma, Calvin Klein, or if it’s just a regular brand where a shirt is
$5.99 or $7.99. You really can’t beat
that.

Now, this next paragraph is for ladies only, guys you may
think this is TMI haha.
think this is TMI haha.
I’ve been working out A LOT.
Probably the most I’ve worked out in a really long time. So I started doing research randomly one day
because I saw a pair of underwear at TJ Maxx by Underarmour specifically for
working out. I also know that with
activewear it’s best to buy moisture wicking clothing. Well, this sparked my interest because I
wanted to know exactly why you need moisture wicking clothing (besides helping
to absorb sweat) and why Underarmour makes special undies. What can I say I’m weird and need to know
everything. I went on the Livestrong
website because that’s the first one that popped up in my google search. I started reading about how with females our
private areas are extremely sensitive (well duh) especially when working
out. This is where all of the moisture
wicking clothing is important. Even
though we are working out and doing something really good for our bodies, at
the same time our private area down below is not feeling the same. Since that area is so sensitive the female
body is prone to more infections when we work out. It gets sweaty and combined with other
factors (I won’t get into details because I don’t want to severely gross anyone
out) this is how infections come about.
THAT is why it’s extremely important for us women to make sure we wear
moisture wicking clothing, and that we need to make sure to change after
working out. NO RUNNING ERRANDS IN YOUR
WORKOUT CLOTHES. Yes, I know it’s easier
after going to the gym, and yes I am totally guilty of this, but after reading
the Livestrong website I was a little concerned for the health of my down below
region.

**Ok, guys you can start reading here again**
In the coming weeks I’ll
have a whole week dedicated to workout gear, and what I did to drop all of this
weight. It’s been a lot of hard work,
dedication, commitment, and most importantly SELF CONTROL but I’m still
going. Yes, I have cheat meals (not
cheat days), but I still cheat in moderation.
I am by no means where I want to be with my health and fitness but I’m
getting closer each day. I recently went
to the doctor because I was scared there was something majorly wrong with my
health due to how I felt, but turns out diet and exercise were the trick. I cannot even begin to explain how much
better I feel after 1.5 months of clean eating and regular daily exercise.

I feel the same way about work out clothes. I try to work out 4-5 days a week so I like to feel good while doing it. I typically like to go to Gap for mine but Old Navy and Fabletics have good options for cheap too! http://mymonochromaticlife.com
