For today’s post it’s the third installment of the Breast
Cancer Awareness theme on my blog this week.
Today instead of focusing just on the outfit (which I’ll get into) I
wanted to take a little bit of time to talk about Breast Cancer awareness from
some research I’ve done.
Cancer Awareness theme on my blog this week.

wanted to take a little bit of time to talk about Breast Cancer awareness from
some research I’ve done.
Other than skin cancer, breast cancer is the
most common cancer among American women. Getting mammograms
regularly can lower the risk of dying from breast cancer. The United
States Preventive Services Task Force recommends that if you are 50 to 74 years
old, be sure to have a screening mammogram every two years. If you
are 40 to 49 years old, talk to your doctor about when to start and how often
to get a screening mammogram.

There are different symptoms of breast
cancer, and some people have no symptoms at all. Symptoms can
include any change in the size or the shape of the breast, pain in any area of
the breast, nipple discharge other than breast milk (including blood), and a
new lump in the breast or underarm. If you have any signs that worry you, see
your doctor right away.

How Can I
Lower My Risk?
Lower My Risk?
The main factors that influence your risk
for breast cancer include being a woman, being older (most breast cancers
are found in women who are 50 years old or older), and having changes in
your breast cancer genes (BRCA1 and BRCA2). Most women who get breast
cancer have no known risk factors and no history of the disease in their
families. There are things you can do to can help lower your breast cancer
risk. The Know:BRCA tool can help you assess your risk of having
changes in your BRCA genes.

Although breast cancer
screening cannot prevent breast cancer, it can help find breast cancer
early, when it is easier to treat. Talk to your doctor about which breast
cancer screening tests are right for you, and when you should have them.

With all of that being said, ladies do your research, get
your mammograms, and do your own at home examinations. Don’t feel weird doing it, I do it every so
often because you NEVER know.

Now, moving on to the outfit.
The boots are my favorite, and I actually dressed myself up
to match the boots. They are pink
realtree Justin’s from Cavenders. I don’t
wear them too often, but I love them!
They are usually a big hit too because they really are beautiful and
these pictures don’t do them justice. I
wanted to pair everything with the boots that wasn’t as country as you would
think. These boots can be worn in casual
outfits too, not just your typical working outfit since they’re working
boots. I thought it is safe to go with a
scarf, hat, and sweater. Of course I
paired it with pink for Breast Cancer Awareness but I still think this is an
outfit that you can actually wear out and not feel like you mixed and matched
too much. Also, today’s Wednesday so don’t
forget to link up below! Also, don’t forget to check out the other posts for this week’s Breast Cancer Awareness!

Thanks for spreading the awareness. There is no one in my family with any kind of cancer so I am normally ignorant to how cancer is and dont realize how it can come to anyone. Will remember to get periodic screenings. Lovely outfit,
