Sorry for the foggy windows in the pictures, but unfortunately there’s nothing I can do about that.
I just thought this picture was awesome with the reflection of boyfriend and me.
I yelled out the trailer “y’all are going to be famous” and this is the pose I got from one of the sheep haha!
This guy also wanted to pose for the camera haha!
Every time I see tractor’s I just think of Kenny Chesney “and she thought my tractor was sexy.”
I want an alpaca so bad. I kind of wish I had enough money to open a farm with alpacas. I would be a happy camper.
Dat ass doe. I’m sorry but that’s just the perfect caption for this picture, don’t mind my potty mouth haha!
Today’s post is filled with so many things! Today I’ll be discussing my recent visit to
Valley Shepherd Creamery here in NJ where they make CHEESE! For those of you who know me, you know that
cheese is one of my favorite things to eat or snack on. Then I’ll be recapping from the concert that
I went to last week. Finally, you’ll be
able to link up below.

Valley Shepherd Creamery is located in Long Valley, NJ. When you first pull up you see their store
and to the left there’s some farm animals such as a beautiful horse, alpacas,
and I think I saw a sheep or two. That’s
not all of the animals that they have because once we went on our trailer ride
to the aging cave we saw the rest of their livestock.

Boyfriend and I decided to take the summer tour which ended
the weekend that we went. They have all
types of tours, where you can take a tour of the shearing of sheep, now that
fall is coming they have all sorts of fall activities and such. You start your tour in the shop, there’s a
room where they introduce the farm, it’s history, and what they make/do
there. Then the tour guide Susan (who is
extremely knowledgeable) takes you to see where they start to make the cheese
and where they place the sheep for milking.
It was so interesting to actually see how it’s done. Well, we didn’t see it in person, we saw it
in a video, but we saw the location where they milk the sheep. Then we were able to taste test 9
cheeses. Yes, you read that right
9. I was in absolute heaven because they
were so delicious. There was one pasteurized
cheese and the rest were aged cheese.
All of them were so delicious.
After we tasted the cheese it was off to the trailer ride. I was so excited because they actually let
you go into the aging cave during the tour.
That’s where they have the cheese.
I believe most of them take about 3 months to age, if not more or less
depending on the type of cheese.

At the end of the tour you are able to buy whatever you like
so I went for the Jersey Fresh which is a pasteurized cheese, Shepherds Basket
and More Beer. All three were delicious
and you are able to bring your own wine for your cheese. Boyfriend and I stayed for a little bit and
also tried their gelato which is so tastey!
The alpaca stuffed animal was for my mom. She always wanted an alpaca so I made a joke
and said “hey mom, I bought you an alpaca.”
There’s actually a funny story about the pictures with the horse. He/she (I can’t tell, maybe some of you can)
was a huge horse, and it came up to me and just stared. I was so worried that boyfriend didn’t get it
on camera but he definitely did! It was
pretty amazing actually because horses are extremely beautiful animals. I also had a chance to talk to the owner for
a few minutes outside. He is so
nice! He and Susan let us know that there
is a gourmet grilled cheese shop (not in the NJ area, but outside Philly and
Manhatten) called Melt Kraft and they will be using Valley Shepherd Creamery
cheese there! I can’t wait to take a day
trip and test out these grilled cheese sandwiches.

All in all, I had a blast at Valley Shepherd Creamery. No, I was not paid to say that. I just wanted to do something fun and
different and figured I could write a blog post about it too. It’s definitely something I recommend doing
if you want to step out of the box whether you are going out on a date or
hanging out with a friend.

Moving on to my first ever country concert! Here are some pictures (taken with my iPhone and boyfriend’s Samsung, I was afraid to bring my camera in and I wasn’t sure if it was allowed), and I’ll write about it below!
Do you see the size of the cup in my hand? That was my big girl beer cup. Definitely a lot bigger than a red solo cup haha. The view was absolutely beautiful and I just had to get a picture with it. Plus my boots are pretty snazzy if I do say so myself.
First up was Raelynn.
Scotty played Johnny Cash’s Folsom Prison so we just had to get up and go crazy!
I was also singing “Scotty doesn’t know” when we were waiting for him to come on stage. If you don’t know what that’s from, watch the movie Eurotrip. One of my favorite movies ever!
Then, it was time for Rascal Flatts to steal the show!
Their backup singers were the bomb dot com!
I’ve been to so many concerts in my day and I
went to a few local country concerts when I lived in Texas, but nothing like
this. It was the Riot Tour with Rascal
Flatts, Scott McCgreery, and Raelynn. That
was so much fun. Rascal Flatts played
all of my favorite songs from over the years and they made me feel super old
when they said they’ve been doing this for 15 years. Yea, I remember when they came out. Let me just say that I think Rascal Flatts
sounds better live than in their songs.
It may also be because they have a great on stage presence but they were
amazing. Scotty was adorable, I can’t
believe how mature he’s gotten since American Idol. Raelynn I only heard one of her songs but she
was pretty good live too. They closed the
show with Life is a Highway. Now, this
particular song that Rascal Flatts did a cover of is very near and dear to
me. The reason why is because when
boyfriend and I first became friends (a decade ago) we were just that;
friends. So we decided to hang out one
day and watch the movie Cars. This was
the song for the movie when it came out.
Ever since we hung out that one time, every time I heard Life is a
Highway (the Rascal Flatts version) I would think of Joey. So, for them to close out the show with that
song had me pumped! Well, for a little
bit until we got in the truck, put up the center console, and I fell asleep on
boyfriend’s shoulder haha. My only
complaint was it was on a Sunday and I had work the next day. Other than that it was one of the best
concerts I’ve been to!
