As some of you know, over a year ago I started my health and
fitness journey. Since then I’ve decided
that my goals have changed. I have not
stopped working out or stopped eating healthy.
However, I have become a little more lax about it. My goals are to no longer be a 100% strict
all the time. Was I feeling great and
achieving my goals? Yes,
absolutely! The only thing was that I
was spending my entire Saturday morning and afternoon meal prepping, because I
ALWAYS had to be trying a new recipe for all 5 of my small meals in a day. I was being religious about my workouts that
sometimes I was even working out three times a day, and would beat myself up if
I missed one workout or couldn’t finish because I was just that tired. I had a lot of energy, but when I would go
out I wouldn’t eat at the thought of something not being 21 day fix approved
even if it was by a little bit, so most of the time I wouldn’t eat at all, I
would bring my Shakeology with me. I
wouldn’t have cheat days at the scared thought of getting fat. If I didn’t measure everything in my
containers I would freak out thinking I have too much food. The only goal that I did not hit was having 6
pack abs. I achieved everything
else. And you want to know a little
secret? I’m actually ok with that. In order to get 6 pack abs you have to be
really strict with your food intake. Abs
are mostly diet. And I’m sorry, but I
love my cheat days too much haha.

So, what is my solution?
I will continue to eat healthy most of the time and will continue to
work out 1-2 times a day, 5 days a week.
I will no longer have only 1 rest day, but I will have 2. I will eat healthy Monday-Friday, and if I
want to indulge or be a little more lenient with my food intake on the weekends,
I will allow myself to. If I’m only
going to be working out to remain consistent with my size, I’m actually ok with
that. The reason why I am ok with this
decision is because I met so many health and fitness goals (more than ever in
my life), all because I asked myself “Why start Monday?” For the past 8 months I’ve been looking for
goals (because I met all of the major ones) to meet besides just staying
consistent with my health.

The shirt I’m wearing is the perfect motivation. A lot of people see me indulge (especially
with my mom’s pierogi hehe) more than I did a year ago and what they don’t know
is that it took me time, blood, sweat, and tears (literally) to get to my goal
weight last year. I wanted to give up,
but I didn’t. I didn’t start my health
and fitness lifestyle on a Monday. I
started it every single day. Every day
was a new day. A new day to try a new healthy
recipe, a new day to set myself back and eat Taco Bell, a new day to last one
more minute on the treadmill, or a new day to lift more weight than I did the
week prior. These people always say “Oh
I wish I could eat that much and still be your size.” What they don’t know is I was able to change
my metabolism, at least that’s what it feels like. I can indulge because I eat healthy the rest
of the week. You want to know the reason
why a lot of people say why start Monday?
It’s because how many times have you told yourself you’re going to lose
weight and every time it’s “ok well I’ll start Monday,” and then it never
happens? That’s why people say start
whenever you are dead set on starting your health and fitness journey. Stop making excuses. I highly recommend being strict in the beginning
and indulging when you’ve already hit your target weight. When I did the 21 day fix I didn’t indulge
until I got to my first goal weight which was after 2 rounds of it. I had so much momentum that I didn’t want to
stop. There’s no reason for you to start
Monday. If you’ve wanted to get healthy
whether it be by diet or exercise or both, now’s the time. Don’t wait any longer. The only person that you are hurting is
yourself.

You know how many times I told
myself that oh I’ll just start going to the gym Monday. Actually, after vacation back in August, I
had such a hard time getting back on track.
The reason why is because I kept saying oh I’ll try again Monday. This is actually the first week that I’ve
been sticking to my routine. Since
vacation I’ve meal prepped, but not as great as usual, and I didn’t work out as
much. I was working out maybe 3-4 times
per week. You really have no idea how
many times my mom asked me if we were going to the gym and I said eh I don’t
feel like it today. Well, this week was
different. I reminded myself of the
holidays coming up and that was enough motivation for me haha! I want to make sure my routine is back to
normal so that if I indulge on Halloween candy, Thanksgiving, and Christmas I
won’t feel as guilty knowing that the months prior I was still on track.

Grrr…..I'm in this funk spot right now. If I don't workout first thing in the morning I will find one million excuses but I keep hitting my snooze button regardless and I totally keep telling myself "next Monday". Vicious cycle and I need to stop it!! Thanks for the motivation…you look precious as always.
